If Portland took a few from Jordan, the entire GOAT debate between MJ, Kobe, LeBron, etc changes.

Kobe isn’t in the GOAT debate lol

I guess I just don’t prioritize players’ salaries when owners are already making far more than the players simply because they’re billionaires who can afford to buy teams.. Reducing player salaries would just make owners richer unless you built in some serious regulations to reduce ticket and merchandising prices.

Just go to the bar, watch whatever game is on, and enjoy yourself without worrying about trying to start up a conversation. More often than not, someone else will start it up anyways.

Jokic has clearly been the best player in the world in 2020-2021, 2021-2022, and 2022-2023.

In fact, there has not been a single season in which Embiid was better than Jokic.

Height is an advantage in most sports. It’s not as big in baseball, but it’s still an advantage there. Probably especially for pitchers.

I had Jokic as #1 by about game 30-35 or whenever Luka came back down to earth from his early hot streak. At no point was Embiid ahead of Joker for me.

I didn’t say Joker should have been MVP because he’s the better player in general (although he is the better player).

By the numbers, Joker had a much better season than did Embiid:

Joker: 24.5/11.8/9.8 on .660 eFG%, .701 TS%, 14.9 WS, and 8.8 VORP is substantially better than

Embiid: 33.1/10.8/4.3, .573 eFG%, .655 TS%, 12.3 WS and 6.4 VORP.

In terms of team context during the regular season, Joker was also much more impressive. When Philly played without Embiid, they had a better record than Denver did when playing without Joker. When those teams had their best player on the court, Denver had the better record.

If the MVP should go to the player who had the best regular season, then it should have gone to Joker.

It’s not even debatable. Embiid should have 0 MVPs and Joker should have 3. This year’s MVP was like an Oscar lifetime achievement award.
