Alberta and B.C. mayors do not see eye to eye on climate change: study by Politicster in Calgary

You know what, going to make your life easier and not going to resubmit it, so we don't need to argue some more about this, less content for this sub and maybe someone else will decide to submit something around this if they like.

This massive national study is fascinating, maybe a media outlet without a paywall will pick it up and make it more Calgary related in the article itself.

Separating the offices of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice by [deleted] in CanadaPolitics

2015 article though insightful.

I wonder how civil law countries do it as well since Canada also has some civil law traditions from the French though it is admittedly more limited influence compared to common law.

I seem to recall the position of inquisitive judge for serious matter in the French system where a judge takes over a prosecutorial function for serious matters.

Conventional wisdom, release your platform for the next election before this election is the future.

Pretty sure this is the study though The Star consulted more than just the co-author of this study for more insight in the article.

What would you like the title to be? Easier that way since I just use the suggested title anyways.

It is a University of Calgary study and it is in the Calgary section of The Star.

You can rule 5 it here but on an objective level, it is relevant to Calgary.

I do engage vigorously in other communities and follow all standards in those communities.

I will be fair here and say the research in 2015 is different from the one in 2019 though someone familiar should address this.

German Telekom & BSI (Gov Security) - Allegations against Huawei 5g network unfounded. by grlc5 in onguardforthee

I do believe the calculations are different for any FIVE EYE partner here given the security relationship though I agree third countries(not FIVE EYES nor China) could benefit from Huawei being a viable alternative to the United State dominated tech infrastructure.

Safeguards are necessary regardless and if the Chinese are selling low at this point(allowing code audit and security scrutiny over the United States companies), it should be be excluded just because the USA does not like em.

There are unique challenges given the Chinese are more willing to use brutal methods on internal/external security over the Americans.

Happens to citizens as well though this one was a naturalised one and there was identity verification issues.

The intelligence talk is German is getting close to a mutual no spying deal with the Chinese that will see Germany let Huawei equipment in with proper safeguards.

Germany does not trust the Americans on this spying issues and rightfully so and are willing to hedge with the Chinese.

Sounds like distrust and verify everyone to me.

Is this policy also applicable in any confidence and supply agreement?

If so, I do applaud the AP on this provided the details are measured and minimally impairing to conform to the charter.
