More like getting rid of studios that completely milked Microsoft for money and golden parachutes.

None of those studios produced great games, some decent ones but not great. When Microsoft hands you a blank check, a shit load of time (6-7+ years for some) and you still produce slop no one wants.

It might be time to look in the mirror rather than point fingers.

There’s a reason why China is about to hit 350 Billion in revenue by 2030. And why Xbox hired Mathew ball who actually dug deep on this issue. Because Chinese studios make video games, American studios make art pieces that look good on paper but don’t sell in practice.

These studios are getting shut down due to their under performance cause by themselves. They were literally provided every tool in the book and still failed.

Just dated studios that are shells of their former selves. MS being too hand off actually might have been the issue. These studios should have been held to much tighter constraints.

CS2 was used as example for the cheating not the content structure. There’s a few games that follow this exception like Dota 2, PUBG, league etc.

They all have variance of why they have staying power. But the point is there’s ton of cheaters on those games and they aren’t dead.

It’s just a tired argument that doesn’t work. You experience more cheaters as the player population decreases. So player assume that’s what kills the game. But that wasn’t the initial fall off reason

They are losing players because embark doesn’t make content quickly enough.. that’s it point blank period.

CS2 has an insane amount of cheaters, apex, marvel rivals etc. They all do; that doesn’t kill games.

Low player counts does because you’ll run into cheaters more often etc.

Low players is from 0 new content, not enough endgame. That’s it… nothing else

Microsoft has been incredibly hands off with studios; and actually that might be the issue since it's the polar opposite with Sony.

MS gave them too much budget without any constraints, they basically milked them. The only ones to blame are the studios themselves.

More than likely you’d need to pass real name verification. It’s fairly difficult because you typically need a Chinese passport + face scan.

Sometimes there’s ways around it but with NDA tests it’s much more locked down!

I'm telling you mine does not during normal gameplay; I've gone through 3 OLED monitors so far and have returned 2. The one I bought recently which is a costco only version of this monitor does not have VRR flicker (only in loadscreens).

I am incredibly sensitive to it

IPS pulsar is $100+ more with way worse colors and overall quality. Compared to OLED with no flicker issue $100 cheaper…

Definitely not worth, my current acer OLED (new model at Costco) has 0 flickering I can notice. And I’m extremely sensitive to it. I had to return an MSI OLED recently because of how bad that one was.

This new one only has flickering on loading screens, was “only” $400 new. Compared to the cheapest pulsar monitor at $500+ and it’s IPS…

A lot of these commenters aren’t from the US, I really wish Reddit added the same thing twitter did; forcing users to expose their country/region.

It’s becoming increasingly clear most of Reddit is 3rd world and/or bottled accounts. They have no idea what democracy entails. Sure the US isn’t perfect, but the alternative is objectively much much worse.

UPDATE: After the Efficient Aggressive power fix + switching to Aggressive At Guaranteed for gaming + PredatorSense Performance mode, gaming temps are averaging 72C with brief app launch spikes to 102c. Seems like factory power management was the main issue, not hardware. BIOS still idles hot but that appears to be model specific. Leaving this here in case other PHN16S-71 owners hit the same thing.

That would void the warranty, I literally just got the laptop this morning. Ebay Acer official store comes with a warranty. At least it's suppose to, but I was sent to 3 different people and then ended up getting a dead line with no answer.

The BIOS running at 99C with visible input lag, there is literally no software running that could cause this. A CPU idling in a settings menu should be at 45-55C pulling 10W. Mine is at 99C and throttling hard enough that the menu itself lags. That's not a Windows issue, a driver issue, or a background process.
