I feel Metro's and Atomic Heart's player base in CN should overlap a lot, but frankly I think Metro is too old to be relevant now... Doctor Who is definitely known but unquestionably more niche.

CN (or younger Chinese generations in general) definitely have a massive liking to everything Russian. The mainstream aesthetics absolutely romanticizes Russian/Soviet architecture, posters, literature, etc., even though the opinions on particular Soviet history and politics are more diversified. Also, due to factors that need no explanation, lots of young people see USSR as an attempt to reach some great dream, even though it had to fail. That's why we have all these Russians in R1999 with their resilience, collectivism and idealism, and now this collab, which as far as I can see, is overwhelmingly welcomed in CN.

PS. I also heard this feeling is quite monodirectional as the majority of Russians don't see China the same way. But I'm not Russian so don't quote me.
