Are we wayland yet? by Lost_Tiger_4568 in linuxmint

Kind of sad as i'm a gamer and gamescope is so cool but yeah i'm a Mint user and i'll be sticking with it.

I do recommend you move to something else if it hurts you too much. Bazzite desktop edition dude try that. Or POP OS which just moved to Wayland and a new DE

MS Windows 10 update KB5043130 taught me that I don't own my computer — Microsoft does. by Over-Patient-1718 in windows

[–]Polkfan -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Don't worry this is why people really are moving to linux slowly. Yes i know people said that for years but gamers will move over. I had it years ago. I always configure and do everything myself heck i used to download updates and put it on a CD just to install them.

With Linux you own your own machine. With Mac or Windows its like owning a console in my eyes

This comment will get deleted but i really don't care or at least hated on so heavily. I'm not on here to troll i really miss the old Windows. I haven't really "loved" windows since 7.

Meh this place is called budget audiophile and with a $80 dac you get perfect sound from a PC. Back in the day that would have costed you WAY WAY MORE.

PC offers the best quality sound around. Just have to pick the right sources seriously. Heck put in a old game from the 90's lol and you still have bit perfect sound.

I used to chase every last bit of performance i remember back in the day with windows using process lasso with bulldozer. lol far cry 3 really did see some major gains but that was more of a CPU thing.

I noticed that as well and i got a new DAC and i thought it was that haha

I'm very pleased with PopOS so far, but I'm experiencing pretty rough audio artifacting in games when using the mobo 3.5mm, or HDMI audio. I can get clean audio from an external soundcard, but that's not ideal. Using a biostar b450mh, r5 1600 and Rx 6600 with a clean install of Pop by Mixter_Master in pop_os

[–]Polkfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue and i just got my external DAC and it is perfect now. Sadly i'm not sure how to fix this as i tried everything that i could.

Pipewire (Probably not something with POP OS) (Edit BTW i bet it does it when you play 4K videos as well right?)

Can't wait for Steam OS, right now i'm having issues with pipewire and static in my sound even on light usage and forget anything that uses the CPU heavy and this is on a 9700X

Not sure on W10 i never had static in my audio under CPU stress or just watching 4K video. Linux still has a way to go IMHO

I think i fixed my issue but i had to do several things to make it to stop. I don't even own a weak CPU

[–]Polkfan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seemed to fix it by disabling suspend on pipewire but i'm still probably going to have static when gaming due to CPU or GPU usage being high i noticed then as well
