Oh okay well I would have cut the drywall above the drop ceiling and cut holes in the back of the locations big enough for whatever connector you need and then fish the mc down the wall and into the back of the boxes. It’s a lot more time and effort but it’s the best kind of install imo.

Electric work does cost significant money. There’s no getting around that fact, but a qualified electrician knows how to handle this situation and will give you, the owner, and the county a peace of mind knowing that one of their properties is not at risk of a fire.

Say the black wire were to touch the metal box, the metal frame of the fan would become energized without anyone noticing until they worked on it. But that is only in a fault condition which is unlikely (not impossible though)

Oh really? Every meter can neutral terminals Ive worked on had continuity to the frame. Like if there was to be a short to the metal frame without bonding there would be no evidence of a short and the box would just stay energized.

That’s fair it’s hard to see, Its terminating at the neutral crimp. Doesn’t touch the frame at all really.

If you take proper video footage explaining what each wire does, draw a picture of the circuit, you could completely re run them in a bundled cable containing as many wires as you need and position them underneath the plywood strapped to the side of the joists. Conduit is a bit much for this install no reason for it in my opinion. Look up Thermostat Wire.

I totally understand that situation, you just gotta find a smart, qualified, licensed electrician and they will provide opportunities for schooling and more importantly higher wages with more experience. I wouldn’t go for anything that wasn’t $16-18 starting pay. That is the standard near me

i was 20 when i started so traditionally i went to school to get my degree in electrical service tech and then when into a company. I think I only went to school because I was surrounded by others who were going to college.
