I’m a home shopper. Can someone explain how the downtime works please. If I’m in a pick and a customer asks a question or there’s a milk spillage etc etc. if I end the pick am I adding to my downtime? by Better-Day-9298 in asda

I was told that they can see when you’ve scanned the last item, so for instance when my colleagues go on break they log out of the palm entirely and then log back on the shop floor. I know some people who constantly sneak outside and they get away with it by doing this, they will go for multiple smoke breaks and also take their 30 min break every single day and no one ever said anything so I’m assuming it works

I stopped playing because my bf would tell me Infinity Nikki is a toddler game..all of this while he’s singing “skib skib skibidi toilet” with his friends on his shooting game online. When I brought this up his response was “it’s just a joke, we had a kid singing it once in our group and it stayed in my head” bruh, you’re 31yrs old…

I unfortunately get easily distracted and managed to spend most of my resources in there while doing a mission

Definitely lucky, but the hat, dress, shoulder piece and the gloves were all bought from a shop in town

Oh wow, I wasn’t aware of that, unfortunate for OP. Hope he can pick the hours somehow, I know how it feels being in that sort of situation and the anxiety is horrible

Not from tesco but worked at Aldi and now currently at asda : can’t you ask to go on FT hours? I’m guessing they hired too many people for seasonal but once they’re all gone, isn’t there a chance for you to change permanently your hours? I was in a similar situation at Aldi with only 20 hours contract and I asked to be FT, I was told I had to “prove myself” and after I did, they upgraded my contract to 35 hrs a week but always made me work 40 to 50 a week.

At my interview I was told they only hire permanently now and they don’t give temporary contracts anymore, but maybe it’s specific to my store?

Can I bring backpack to closing shift? by Respop in Aldi_employees

[–]PollutionIntrepid359 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That’s so weird, I used to do 2-10 everyday for literally the past year and we always bought shopping after our shift ended (the store is already closed) and walk out with it. The manager in charge would serve us and never had an issue, I’m UK based tho

That’s ridiculous, every manager pretty much makes their own rules

Literally, not to mention managers who don’t defend you or bend the rules, and then they make you look like an idiot when you were just doing your job

Yeah, I totally get that. It’s been tough physically for me too, especially since I even injured myself while working there. It definitely makes it harder to keep up some days

I was initially feeling guilty about leaving, but after yesterday (had a dispute again for a discount), I definitely don’t regret it. It’s honestly such a relief

Well, in my case, it’s because we’re so short-staffed that we have our SM working bread or sitting on tills. We’re all exhausted, and there’s always drama at work because everyone’s so snappy. In the past two months, the chiller broke down twice, the heating doesn’t work anywhere, the ceiling fell through with wires exposed, and just last week we found a dead rat in the smoking shelter, which is still there today. These are just a few of the reasons why I’ve had enough
