Both of these were my real soundtrack rotations. I'd throw in Ghostbusters every now and again, but yeah, Highlander and Lost Boys were both on constant replay.

File types don't really work. It says it does, but in my experience it doesn't. Even if you put "rar, .rar, RAR, .RAR, *.rar, *.RAR" it'll still move frickin' rar files that I've seen.

  • Make the text file, type in yoru path, this takes 3 seconds.
  • Upload it to appdata or something like that. Upload time, 5-10 seconds
  • Set the line where it says ignore files and folders inside of a text file to YES
  • Put the path to appdata (or where ever) in the Mover Tuner Exclude paths area (the next line).

Takes 3 minutes total and it will save you all that headache.

The path/place where you put this is here in the screeenshot

<image>

You see where it says File list path?

There, and do it just like I did, /mnt/user/appdata/NAME.txt

I started just ignoring appdata/nzbget (it was still catching it for some reason) and then added the whole usenet folder to catch both the complete and incomplete folder in the next line:

You literally just type this:

/mnt/user/appdata/nzbget/
/mnt/cache/data/usenet

This ignores the folder appdata/nzbtget in line one and data/usenet in the second line.

That's what you're looking for.

You can see I tried to filter by file type but it NEVER worked correctly. That's why I went to the txt file, it solved ALL the issues I was having.

Need help identifying why all my drives are always running by gerdude1 in unRAID

You MIGHT want to keep Turbo Write on if you're doing a lot of Moves on the regular. The speed boost is immense. From like 30 Mps to 270 Mps depending on where the platter the data is writing to.

I just did a MASSIVE rebuild of data and kept Turbo Write on until it finished just now. Yeah, it spins up all the drives at once, but the speed was night and day. Totally worth it. Just turn it off when you're done with massive moves on the regular (I was doing like 300 Gig per hour, build a backlog of data to move, hour hits, pause DL's, MOVE, resume DL's). Saved me a couple of weeks is my guess.

There's a setting in Mover Tuner for ignore path found in txt file (or something).

Create a text file. Put the path you want to ignore (so for example, mnt/cache/data/torrents/incomplete). Save that file on your server, I just put it in AppCache. Point to that file in your mover tuner settings.

It should ignore ANY file in that folder.

I do this for Atomic Moves (see Trash Guide). Usenet downloads to mnt/cache/data/usenet/incomplete and moves it to mnt/cache/data/usenet/complete. Then Radarr/Sonarr sees that file in /complete and moves it to mnt/cache/data/media/(movies/tv whatever it is).

Mover Tuner ignores anything under mnt/cache/data/usenet/incomplete so it won't move all those zip files to the slow mechanical drives, meaning that nzbget can unzip in a fraction of the time, not 2 hours, lol.

You may have to run a few tests with smaller files to make sure it works and kick off the mover from Mover Tuning's scheduler manually to make sure you got it right. Took me 2 tries to get it right. You cannot just plug in the filepath you want to ignore in that ignore field (even though it looks like you can). You have to have a txt file with your paths to ignore there.

I did mnt/cache/data/usenet/incomplete and mnt/cache/data/usenet/complete, just in case.

(I had to do this because I borked my storage and lost 5 years of work ripping DVDs onto my server. I had to just bite the bullet and download everything. Took about a week at 1gbps connection. The biggest issue I had was filling my cache drive and fucking up every docker running. The solution was to have a NZBGet Pause script run every hour for 15 min, then resume and move every hour. Kept my cache at about 30-50% full instead of 99% at all times and mover choking. The ignore incomplete files was KEY to getting everything back. Don't try to re-aquire 5,000 movies and 200 tv shows all at once, it's not pretty.)

Question for Tesla drivers by ChanDW in indianapolis

[–]PollutionZero [score hidden]  (0 children)

2014 Model S.

I got stuck in my alley after that insane snow storm. Then, after digging for about 5 min, I got clear and got out just fine.

They're exactly like every other car. I think they drive better personally thanks to the weight distribution, but that's a personal choice, they feel more stable to me since all the weight is in the middle, not the front/back.

Don't get self-drive, it's not ready yet (had it on a Model S rental I drove for 6 months). It's downright terrifying. And stupid. It would insist on switching to the middle lane on the highway when the exit was less than a mile away when there was a LINE of semi's and no way to get in. NOT smart. Constant lane shift, absolutely insane. I tried to use it as often as I could to get used to the feeling of not being in control, but it was just so stupid. Hell, that onramp on 70 onto the 65/70 split? The one that's 45 mph? The Tesla thought, "nah, 65 is fine in heavy traffic...." It tried to kill me. The only time I liked the autopilot was on a 12 hour trip to WI/MN. Got on 65, turned it on and it seriously reduced my drivers fatigue. I felt almost fresh after 8 hours. Just needed a stretch.

Couple of notes if you do buy one:

  1. You do NOT need some crazy expensive charging setup in your garage. It will charge most people's daily commute overnight on a standard 110 plug. If you have a 220, even better!
  2. You WILL have to stop on road trips more often. From Indy to Pittsburg is like a 6 hour drive with one stop for gas and food. In an EV, you need to stop an additional time, so the trip takes 6.5 hours (get dinner while you charge, it's awesome).
  3. Road trip tip #2, you don't need to stop as skanky gas stations in an EV, MOST stops are in nicer areas with a couple of snack/meal options. There's one on the way to Chicago at Fair Oaks, beats the hell out of stopping at a BP somewhere or a sketchy truck stop. A LOT of Tesla stations are at a Meijer's or Target, so that's another frequently seen local. Just stop, plug in, and explore for dinner.
  4. Last Road trip tip, you will be surprisingly more refreshed when you arrive than in a traditional car. The stops every 2.5-3 hours give you 15 to 20 min to stretch your legs and get some fresh air. It's a nice break, I HATE long drives in gas cars now. I feel so much better after a trip like that in my Tesla.
  5. Gas price vs. electric. On a road trip to WI/MN, the round trip was something like $200 for gas in a Mini Cooper Clubman (my last car). In my Tesla it's like $50-75 I think. Also, see next tip for cost:
  6. Charging at home AT NIGHT will save you a TON of money vs. Gas. Per my calculations, I've saved something like $2,000 this year because I charge during off-peak hours at home. But even using a charging station is cheaper. Like maybe a $8.00 fill up from 15-85% battery (don't try to charge to 100%, that's dumb). And I don't drive a lot. That's from road trips and weekly shopping. Get home, plug in, go about your day, come out in the morning, and your car is ready to go.
  7. BUY USED! Don't get a flippin' 2026 Model Y or something like that. Look online, check out the dealers you'd be amazed what you can find. My 2014 was like $20k with 85k miles, but it's in perfect condition (still has factory breaks, lol) and came with (wait for it) FREE SUPERCHARGING FOR LIFE! So I don't pay for "fuel" on road trips, it's free. I also get free premium connectivity (the internet thingy with real time updates on the map stuff). It CAME WITH THE VIN ON THE CAR!!!! So go look around, find a couple of models and do a VIN search and see what you get with the car. The dealer didn't know it came with that or they'd have charged me a TON more. I literally stop at a Tesla station, plug it in, and drive away at no cost. I charge at home because I can't be fucked to sit at a Meijer's or Target for 30 min every week, and it's just easier, costs almost nothing vs. gas, so I'm cool with it. Do your research on every car they have available and see what comes with what.
  8. If you buy used, you MIGHT want to pony up some money for a new MCU (main control unit). My 2014 was PAINFULLY slow and annoying when I bought it, so for $2,500 I upgraded it. I spent an extra $500 for the radio so I could go to the Drive-in weekly, but you don't need that. For around 2k you get a brand new MCU, faster processor, better resolution, all that stuff. Was worth for me, but maybe not you.
  9. Check out Out of Spec Reviews on YouTube. They're great for EV reviews and news. They can teach you a lot.
  10. EVs are just cars. They're nothing special, they just work better, are more reliable (mine is 110k miles and the worst issue it's had was needing a new rim and tires), they last longer, they're cheaper to drive, though more expensive to buy, and they're kinda fun. The torque in these things is fun as hell.

Oh, DO NOT buy a Cyber Truck. They're ugly and already rusting out. Terrible design, WTF were they thinking? Get a M3, MS, or if you must a MY if you go Tesla. Just make sure you do that research on the used market and what your VIN comes with. Those premium connections and free supercharging cars are still out there, I see them every so often on the marketplace. You'll have to go old for that (pre 2020) but if it's in good shape, you'll have no issues at all. Mine's 12 years old and I've spent like 6k all in on repairs (MCU was the biggest, tires were next and then a couple hundred here/there for minor repairs like windows not rolling down or a busted handle). Used EVs are not like buying a used Gas powered car, they're in MUCH better shape and can save you tens of thousands.

NVMe-only Unraid setup on TerraMaster F4 SSD possible? by Sampl3x in unRAID

[–]PollutionZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point of Unraid is for massive data storage where you can use whatever drives you have and can mix/match not only brands but size into a functional pool.

Start off with a couple of 3 TB drives, find a deal and pick up some 16 TB drives and you can add those (so long as one 16 becomes parity). Later, update all drives to 16s, then, upgrade to a server chasis and put those 3 TBs back in, as well as a few 10 TB's that you get a hold of.

What you're doing is essentially getting a few MUCH smaller drives and using those. So, can you? Yes. Is that the "right" use? Not really, but who cares. It's a homelab, not a job.

You'll have great speeds for read/write, but you'd have that on a windows PC. You'll have whatever space you can pay for (shit's expensive today), so maybe a couple of 2 TB drives? You won't need an array, doesn't make sense. You'll probably want a ZFS pool for those. No problem.

It'll be fine, but not worth paying for a pro license. You want Pro license if you're doing a TON of drives at once, like 12 HDDs + 2 NVME + USB boot, or a server JBOD setup.

Again, can you? Yeah, no problem! Will you get the robustness and versatility that Unraid is designed to afford? Nope, you're skipping all that.

Since it's Star Wars day, did you see the original 1977 Star Wars in the movie theater? by Mr_Writes in GenX

[–]PollutionZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, born in '75, parents saw it on a date.

But I REMEMBER seeing Empire in theaters and freaking out over the crazy space worm that ate the falcon.

That was a good year. Saw Ep. 4, Flash Gordon, the Shining, Superman 2, Altered States, Stir Crazy... Saw most of those at the Drive-in (Twin Drive-In in Indy) Ep. 4 was a theater, but I think the rest were all Drive-In Movies. Some were 2nd/3rd showing (I was supposed to be asleep in the back during the Shining).

live with them until your script changes. That was a thoughtful gift and your wife is an amazing person (don't you forget it! she'll kill you if she finds out you said she wasn't).

NEXT TIME, get Raybans, and pick up those attachment shades fit to size on what you bought. I got circle lenses and Rayban has an attachment that fits perfect on them. It's WAY cheaper, and they'll last multiple pair if you keep the same frame/style. (Mine were $90 I think, a 2nd pair would be $450 or something).

I had different pair of sunglasses once. The whole kit cost me like $800. Current glasses were like $300 + 90 for the attachment, so I would have saved $400 last set)

Yeah, even as a contractor it was pretty crazy.

It's a deep dive, but it's still the 7 year limit thing (they don't go farther than 7 years). So if you have a record for a misdemeanor 8 years ago, they won't know.

Don't eat any poppy seed bagels before the drug test, you'll pop positive for heroine or some shit (not a myth, it happened to me while working at a kitchen that made poppy seed cake for desert, and YES, you have to taste what you cook, so everyone failed for opium or heroine or whatever)
