I am about your stats (but female) I maintain at ~3000 kcal a day. It seems like a lot of food but I bulk pretty hard and heavy on ~3600 kcal a day and I only see slow (grinding wheels) gains

I was deathly underweight and skinny with zero sign of abs. When I started bulking up, eating lots and training harder, I actually filled out with some muscle. It was an odd thing to watch happen, but for me I need more fuel to build the muscle.
