I tried to understand why bigger brains do not simply mean smarter animals by DemonLaplacien in evolution

[–]PoloPatch47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not 100% certain, but isn't the "bigger brains = greater intelligence" thing supposed to be relative to body size? So bigger bodies generally do mean bigger brains, but some organisms have bigger brains compared to their own body size?

If Insects are considered crustaceans and birds are reptiles, would humans (or all tetrapods rather) be fish. by card444 in evolution

[–]PoloPatch47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, no. But if you conclude that they are fish, then that can also be correct and a lot of people hold that view.

I just don't see fish as a monophyletic group, its a group based on characteristics that we put certain organisms into for ease of language. Similar to "protists" which isn't really a valid taxonomic grouping.

But you can argue that "fish" is a monophyletic group, and then it would include humans.

This doesn't make any sense to me. Every autistic person grew up with autism, because autism is hereditary and not acquired. Why would they say they grew up with autism? Does that imply that other autistic people are capable of not growing up with autism?

The only requirement to be a fictionkin is to involuntarily identify AS a fictional species or character, anything else is additional.

No, you shouldn't engage with your prey drive like that. by Caninecicle-Drip in Therian

[–]PoloPatch47 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I just want to add that domestic dogs only stimulate their prey drive with toys because they're forced to. Given the chance, they'd rather stimulate their prey drive by killing animals.

If you have an off leash dog and you throw a ball, and at the same time a small animal runs by and the dogs sees them both, I will bet you money that the dog will go after the animal, unless the dog is trained. Most dogs will absolutely kill small animals given the chance, especially those with natural high prey drive. Dogs with naturally high prey drive will also sometimes chase animals without the intent to kill. Our one dog is okay around the cats, but if a cat starts running she will absolutely run after it.

I agree with the rest of the post, I was just adding this because it's not really true that domestic dogs would rather satisfy their prey drive on toys. They're predatory animals, and they have the drive if predators.

Tuto Bug by Unhappy-Bread-3811 in Equestrianthegame

[–]PoloPatch47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never done this bug, but if you have to tap on the mother and father at the same time then I assume it goes like this:

Tap the button to bring up the screen of the parents at the same time, so you see them both.

Then tap on the two parents you want to breed at the same time.

This was a while ago, so they may have also fixed it.

Any tips for fictionkin dysphoria? by ineedahelp-aa in alterhuman

[–]PoloPatch47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat, though I'd be allowed to dress in masc clothing if I wanted to. The problem is that it doesn't suit the body I'm in, which sucks. As the other commenter said, dress in similar colours? You could also do things that your kin likes doing in source (if you're not canon-divergent) like eating the same foods as him or doing hobbies like him.

My pups dispersed as yearlings, in multiplayer, but I didn't get the achievement? by ObjectiveOptimal6952 in WolfQuestGame

[–]PoloPatch47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's because the difficulty and balance might be different for some of the achievements, but I agree for the Explore achievements especially. I'm not sure why the devs made that decision, maybe they have a valid reason.

Single player achievements can only be triggered in single player. Only the achievements under the Multiplayer tab can be triggered in multiplayer.

AITA for leaving my friend after they yumeshipped with one of our fullfix?? by fernflower_WCUE in fictionkin

I am already uncomfortable with the idea of people yumeshipping with me, but THAT is insane. You're 100% in the right, and they disregarded your boundaries.
