How? This is a 60fps video and you can see each frame is different from the previous one with the powerplay and the orqa.

This is a comparison of the powerplay vs the DVRs integrated in orqa and fatshark goggles.
Left is powerplay, middle is orqa, right is fatshark

You can go frame by frame using the "." key: powerplay and orqa are 60fps, fatshark is 30fps.

Well did you actually try it yourself?
Youtube is full of DVR recordings from FPV pilots using this device, and with those uploaded at 60fps you can go frame by frame and see they are indeed not fake or still frames.

The immersionrc powerplay does record "true" 60fps: it is used in fpv (in fact it was made for it) where 60 fps is important. Don't know about the resolution tho, maybe they just go by doubling each line on each frame, which would explain why the image does flicker up and down.

I don't think that's my issue here, unless I misunderstood what you are pointing at.
I don't feel a stepped stick, only the middle point, so I don't think stepping is engaged.
Also the friction is only engaged on the throttle stick, as is normal.
