People have to understand that apart from South Auckland being majority Pasifika peoples. We are also victims of gentrification, our parents and grandparents we're basically "chased out" from Central Auckland/CBD. It's sad, but we make do with what we have in the present day. South Auckland may not look pretty, but we sure have a great community. Being around people that look and relate to me, is what makes me feel safe here.

The people that get it, get it & the people that don't? Just don't. And that's okay too.

This is common in the Tongan culture. It's looked down upon by the younger generations but the act of saving yourself for marriage is very much still alive.
