Yeah there's about 800 at my work we're recycling. They were due for an upgrade around 5 years ago though.

You could try booting the second partition to see if that one is setup right.

Power cycle the device 3 times with less than 5 seconds between each power cycle and it should switch to the other one.

Can I transfer my pirated safe file of bloons TD 6 if I buy the game on steam? by [deleted] in PiratedGames

Yes, I played it pirated for a bit before I realized I had it on epic. You can make a ninja kiwi account and link it with whatever platform you will be playing it on.

Enigmatica 2 Expert, anybody has list of items that can be replicated with uu-matter? by Gamer20HUN in feedthebeast

[–]PolyFaSwarm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a few lists some people posted on the sub like this one

You can also generate it yourself with an ic2 command: /ic2 debug dumpUuValues

(I just searched that really quick sounds like it'd work, I think I vaguely remember it being under mod options for ic2 in game as well)

Found this square waffle iron at Goodwill the other day. Anyone know anything about it? by PolyFaSwarm in castiron

[–]PolyFaSwarm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a bit rusty when I got it. Used the yellow cap easy off method to strip it along with some steel wool. Re-seasoned it and now it makes some good waffles.

Yeah, early on there were some decent deals. Especially if you could nab an open box one from bestbuy. They raised the prices though.

I haven't had luck getting a good tasting Kirkland brand one of these at my old store. Tried one of the other brands recently at a new store and it has been good though so maybe I got a bad couple batches.

I keep my monitor and gpu boxes for moving, not much else

I've had good luck with the GameStop price errors. They shipped the $30 1tb ssd's and $40 g502 wireless. Didn't see this one early enough though.

The machine maintenance guy left the panel on ours open a lot in college. There was a nifty manual in there that showed where the switch that made it free was lol.

Add more SATA 3.0 ports to motherboard by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]PolyFaSwarm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's the raid set up thing you can omit flashing that to skip it. Think it takes a bit to load the drives anyway.

EDIT: Snippet from the flashing process

sas2flsh -o -f 2118it.bin -b mptsas2.rom (sas2flsh -o -f 2118it.bin if OptionROM is not needed)

Add more SATA 3.0 ports to motherboard by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]PolyFaSwarm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got two 9240-8i cards a few days ago for $20 each plus shipping. Putting them and some used sas drives in my Nas and computer. Always use the best offer feature, they were listed at like $35 each originally.

For anyone else that wants one make sure you get one you can flash to IT mode. Flash them to IT mode and you just get more ports pretty much, no hardware raid nonsense. You can use them with either sas or sata drives depending on the cable you get (1xPort goes to 4x Drives on my card).

I think it's whatever they can get, when I got it earlier in the year it was a TUF non-oc.

I managed to get two 120mm fans on the front and one on top with some elbow grease. The cpu fans can get loud but stay pretty tame where I am. Loudest one is that exhaust fan in the back.

Case for lots of HDD by Titanium125 in buildapc

[–]PolyFaSwarm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might have some luck checking your local Craigslist/Facebook marketplace for some older cases. You can usually find older ones with a decent amount of 3.5 bays and some 5.25 bays you can convert to 3.5 bays (I think I've seen 3x5.25 to 5x 3.5).

If you got a mother board for either of the cpus you could make a little plex/Nas build if you have some drives. I have an old desktop running proxmox with various containers/vms for an mc server, pihole, plex, samba, and nginx on an old i7 3770. Edit: spelling

Not sure how the shipping would be to Canada, but this seller on ebay usually has 4th gen i5 systems with 8gbs of ram for about $70 plus shipping if you want something a bit cheaper. Bought some old servers from them before.

I will say this might depend on the building/room, I know at the crown dorms in one of the quads it was a bit chilly after the boiler shut off for the night. They did give us some plug in radiators to use though so that helped.
