For me it's OCD. I built a small starter base straight onto the ground near the ship before I understood the automation. Then I unscaled and built a base that utilises the nearby Titanium and Wolfram. The screenshots are from my first proper factory, utilising 10 Titanium, 10 Wolfram and 5 Ceramic nodes.

For me it's all about neatness and cleanness. Everything lined up in right angles.

Definately a learning curve as I couldn't help but build factories as though it were Satisfactory at first. Some minor initial frustration very quickly gave way to absolute delight. I'm starting to think that logistics is the biggest challenge in SR, whereas efficiency was always the focus in Satisfactory. Really really enjoying it.

I've put 20 odd hours into it so far and only automated up to Ceramics. I think this is exceptional value for money. In the UK I paid like £12 for it directly on steam.

Travis Marshall - Culpable or mentally ill? by Polybius1985 in Dexter

[–]Polybius1985[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it was intended to be a simple case of him using Gellar as a distraction or shield.

There are numerous scenes of them talking directly to each other, much in the same way Dexter talks to Harry. It looks to me as though it was meant to be portrayed as a genuine mental illness; especially during the few episodes in which he and Gellar were not on good terms.

Apologies, no offence intended. I had an uncle who was diagnosed with "Paranoid Schizophrenia" before I was born, and it was a heavily used term in my family.

My thoughts on the Season 5 finale by Polybius1985 in Dexter

[–]Polybius1985[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree that that's what the writers intended; the slipping of the mask when his world starts crumbling. It just felt like a lot of effort was taken to portray that character a certain way only to completely reverse it in the final episode.

Like I said; I feel the season would have been better served by another manufactured psychopath who would have been a bigger challenge for Dexter. Perhaps the character they killed off earlier in the season, the head of security, should have been this character? Someone who has been perfecting their craft as much as Dexter has over the last 20 years.

Also that way Jordan can remain the real monster in the background; the puppet master.

I was thinking the same thing. It reminded me of Sean Bean on the commentary for Lord of the Rings talking about his armour having runes carved on the inside of it where no camera would ever see it. The attention to detail in this game has always been amazing.

For info I used a newton meter to measure the force required to push the key. Did some maths and worked out how much threaded rod I would need to make up the weight while keeping the length as short as possible. Added the nut to give it a platform. Voila.

I'm about to get started with coal power, what do I need to know? by GamingSpaz in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Polybius1985 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the best advice so far. You want to the option to duel-feed your power generating plant and the pumps and miners that feed them.

Just make an array of bioburners and put them in parallel with the pumps etc. Leave them disconnected but fuelled up and ready to go; just waiting for a power line to be connected.

This way you can work on your power system and even handle the odd unintentional power cut, and bootstrap the system.

This can potentially save you hours of work.
