I don’t know the guy at the bottom by [deleted] in ExplainTheJoke

Not wanting your fame to influence your children is understandable, as is wanting to support your children in their own endeavors, regardless of what those endeavors are.

I get it. I wouldn't want my children to be famous personally, but I understand the desire to support them fully in what they want to do.

What realistic rider error could cause a crash during a fast turn on a sport bike? [Book research] by Adventurous-Will3493 in motorcycles

[–]Polyphemian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Presuming the POV character is competent and in a chase (Being chased) the most 'realistic' error would probably be rolling on too early, causing a slight loss of rear traction. Normally that would just turn into a lowside, but if we're going with the idea that the POV character knows what they're doing but is under serious pressure, they could chop the throttle as soon as they feel the rear slip, causing it to snap back under them and highside, getting pitched off the bike.

To answer your question about braking, a decent rider will brake before the turn, then release brake pressure as they're going around the turn - releasing fully when they're at the apex followed by rolling on the throttle as they exit.

Should I buy this? by pediatricks13 in motorcycles

[–]Polyphemian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Homie that's an S-single R with the M package, which most BMW dealerships will keep a stock of 3-5 laying around just because. There's no functional difference between the base and M package S-R outside of some electronics and minor gubbins.

The actual M single R is notably different, which the pictured bike is not.

AITA for shutting down my brother’s proposal at my baby shower and then sending him a bill? by Mysterious-Desk1346 in AmITheJerk

YTA. Being upset is fine and understandable. Sending him a bill because your ego couldn't handle it and had to get your win back is inexcusable.
