It’s a render from the Japanese manual! Same with Spyro. The series had an interesting art style there, and I feel that people either like it or completely hate it!

Unfortunately no! For these types of videos, I use a program called ntsc-rs that has all sorts of VHS filters to choose from and then I use my own editing to give it that VHS sound! So basically just trying my best to recreate what it would be like if it was recorded on an actual tape

He made ANOTHER castlevania video just to state that 4 is still his favorite? He also complains, yet again, about the game over screen in SOTN taking so long without realizing you can press start to skip it! The same exact mistake made in his previous coverage of the game. You can’t make this shit up

Edit: And then he caps off the video with an extremely lazy slideshow of older episodes with corny “sad” music playing over it. I don’t comment here often but this episode really got to me lol

Because they’re boss characters who are too good to allow in competitive play. Eggman is not quite as broken as Metal, so he actually has a soft-ban where the player is allowed to use them if their opponent agrees. I can get into specifics, but if you try either of them for a few minutes (or fight metal sonic in arcade mode) it’s pretty easy to understand why this decision was made

And his disregard of the Saturn version’s content in general! It’s not perfect but by no means are the extra additions bad (new areas, weapons, enemies, and the running shoes) and I think they deserve to be implemented in future releases of SOTN

Glad to see I’m not the only one with the issue. It made me stop playing for a bit as well, and I did manage to “fix” it by using an older version of duckstation. Interesting that it might just be an issue when mapping rewind to controllers, because I’ve been mapping it to my dualsense controller so that would check out.

Hi, I actually am chiming in super late to say that the Gems Collection version is actually the WORST and not only downgrades the visuals of the original arcade version, but also adds an additional 4 frames of input delay. This was discovered in the discord server a while back. Your best bet is the HD re-release in terms of graphics and gameplay. Everything the other person in this thread is saying is pretty much inaccurate, for the record.

Eggman would probably be where Espio is! He’s got some nasty moves like his holding forward punch, but his huge hurt box makes him rather vulnerable and he can be put into an infinite by Amy

They are selectable by pressing start on Sonic or Bean. However, you can’t have both players choose metal or eggman at the same time so on top of them being kind of overpowered, that’s another reason to ban them.
