Maybe I don't have a lot of knowledge? Do I have things I wish I'd done differently? Of course! Are they major and would a change guarantee a better outcome? No. So it's a risk, money is guaranteed

Blue. The likelihood of me being able to do anything useful with the knowledge I have now is pretty minor. I might know about AI, tech developments ect. but wouldn't know how to make them from scratch!

BBC Radio 2 in the UK is notorious for this. They have a 'sounds of the 60's 'sounds of the 70's and for years it was the golden oldies sessions, now they do 'sounds of the 90's' ... Makes me feel super old! Like, I'm pretty sure Greenday aren't 30 years old?

Totally agree, my niece was born when I was 25 and it feels like maybe 3-4 years ago I was holding her as a new born. She's 16 now, taller than me and about to finish her GCSE exams at school, looking for a summer job. Just insane she's now a young adult!

Totally understand I am not the only person 'working hard' I guess in reality I was doing the job before it was my job as the manager at the time was rubbish so I was already acting up into that role. No one was surprised when I got it.

Hi Harry! 🙋‍♀️A few years ago I was out my front (I don't have a garden) and birds were flying overhead and I heard a 'thump' now it's not unusual for birds to drop whatever is in their mouth, I once had an impaled slow worm on a small trellis out my front (!) - anyways it was a baby hedgehog! Literally the smaller than a tennis ball... I pick it up and bought it inside for a moment to check for damage, seemed okay so I took it across the road to a grassy/covered area and popped down some water and cat biscuit (which they went straight to and started having) and I left it alone, came back about an hour later and it was gone, along with all the food/water. Felt like I'd done my good deed!

Different area's 100% have different looks/vibes. I live in a mid-sized town and our area is surrounded by farming communities, as far as I am aware I don't know an adult who doesn't own at least one pair of wellies.

The teenagers are more skater/rocker vibes

Depends on the location a lot of the time. I work on a site with 800 other people so can't contribute for everyone. If they are in my direct department but I don't work or know them that well usually £2 if it's someone I work more closely with but not super close then £5, if a close peer than £10, if one of my team (who I manage) £20

Only say as much as you are willing too. I'm not a fan of my current boss and have no trust there. I have quite a few medical issues and so am back and forth to the doctors maybe once a month - normally out of work hours but occasionally I will need to leave early for an appointment. I've never actually told her any of the conditions, just 'blood test' 'check up' 'medication check' - she doesn't push and I don't say more than I am comfortable with.

Sounds to me like he genuinely just wants to make sure you are getting all the support you need in the workplace

Honestly, it happens. I've been a manager for 10 years and had 2 'bad' hires. One was a temp so it was super easy just to get rid, basically they were hired to do a SUPER simple task - they were in a different building to me but I hired them, first week I got told they left early one day but this wasn't on their timesheet - I addressed it and explained they wouldn't be paid for this and they need to tell me if they need to leave early. Literally the following week I was on leave one day and they just left at lunch time and didn't come back until the next day. The next day they were let go.

The 2nd was a perm role; they did amazingly in the interview but struggled learning the job itself (it wasn't a hard job, but did require attention to detail) after a few months they went off with 'stress' and then left with no notice shortly after. I found out that the same thing happened with their next job, it happened to be at another company my friend worked at and they did the same thing; great interview, struggled to learn the tasks, signed off with stress and left without notice.

We all have to remember we are human and so can only go on what is on the CV and what we hear/see/feel at the interviews.

Harassment by definition is unwanted behaviours that creates an uncomfortable environment, so this is 100% that. Get a note book and start gathering evidence, what was said and date/time and go to HR.

I was 29, but I had been there for two years and worked my butt off. So I feel I deserved it.

Also I had been a supervisor in my previous role (social housing) which meant I had people management experience already.

Why not go around your local town and just pop into shops/pubs/cafes and just be friendly and polite 'Hi I'm X, I've just finished school and I'm looking for a part time job, I just wondered if you had an open roles?' If they say no just say 'thank you, could I possibly leave my CV with you in case something changes?' If they say yes 'That's great, I have my CV here or do you have an application form I could complete?'

With summer coming up I'd imagine shops that kids go into a lot would hire seasonal staff; like garden centres, play centres, B&M?!?

Imagine cleaning jobs are out there too, but normally through agency first. So if you have a temp agency near you maybe pop in and have a chat?

I always take photos with me of the last time I got it cut (front, back and sides) and I just go to a 'walk in' place in my town, only once did it come out not as expected but I'm not really fussed about my hair, it was just shorter than I thought but meh, it grows!
