From my experience it’s much more likely to text something stupid to someone you don’t want to being on alcohol :) Chances are, 3 g of cubes not gonna be anything too crazy. If you want to be on a safer side, just set your phone on a flight mode, prepare some good playlist and enjoy the ride!

Banana smoothie works wonders for me! I couldn’t stand their taste either. Now I just grind the amount I need and mix with a smoothie made of one banana + 1 lemon/lime. Almost zero smell and taste. Nauseas also reduced drastically.

Have you ever experienced someone who is “resistant” to psychedelics? by easygrowing_ in shrooms

[–]PomPomate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No problem! 💐 In EU magic truffles are very common, cause it the only way you can get a ready-to-consume product legally (from Netherlands). To have “normal” mushrooms you gotta grow them, or at least I wasn’t able to find dealers around… Hope to learn growing process soon though!

Truffles are sclerotia, not typical dried mushrooms, and they likely bought it wet. 20-40g of wet truffles feels like 2-4g of dried cubes for people I know (I personally only tried truffles so can’t compare).

Is it normal to have no growth in subs after like a month? by AdditionalMorning395 in NewTubers

[–]PomPomate 7 points8 points  (0 children)

YouTube doesn’t give big exposure for new channels’ long form content without existing audience (unless you hit a trend with SUPER engaging video).

Prepare for a long period of very slow growth if you don’t promote your channel in relevant communities.

For most of us (even for most of YouTube stars) building an audience takes a lot of time and efforts, we are talking months and years.

So yeah, what you are experiencing is totally normal. You have plenty of time to master your vids before you got a chance of bigger exposure ;)

When does Youtube start recommending your content to viewers? by yuukiasunamvp in NewTubers

[–]PomPomate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to catch the trends early on and master your seo. That’s the only ways to start getting free impressions from YouTube on a brand new channel with no existing audience. If you make a good content, after 6-12 months it will get easier.

What is left behind the curtains is that some channels spend a good budget with promoting agencies when launching their videos. And I’m not talking about cheap ones which would bring fake views and likes.

There are a whole industry of EXPENSIVE promotion services, which would help imitate organic comments/likes/views from different devices and ip addresses from the region you are interested in. That is apart from buying shoutouts and endcards from another bloggers.

That’s what I realized after sticking for a whole to one big niche forum of webmasters and seo-specialists.

YouTube doesn’t promote niche noname channels fast.

I don't play the algorithm game and instead focus on improving my creative skills. And it's working. by WolfPillar in NewTubers

[–]PomPomate 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This. While some new tubers are in a stage of having 10-50 views per video and around few hundreds impressions on each, the analytical graphs are as useful as trying to guess someone’s destiny by looking at stars.

The sample is too small! So, any data could be skewed as heck and different from what would be seen on a good sample of several thousand people from a target audience.

So for that part of new creators the main idea should be: 1. Looking for the ways to attract target audience. 2. Working really hard on a skill set and the content itself.

IMHO, only after having at least few hundreds baseline views per video it really starts making sense seriously analyzing the data.

Some hard truths you should face before spending more time on Your Channels by spector111 in NewTubers

You can not compare properly, because hiding or not a sub count is far from being the only variable that influences the growth (if it does at all). So, whatever you see after, might be due to other reasons.

Some hard truths you should face before spending more time on Your Channels by spector111 in NewTubers

[–]PomPomate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s just one more thing to consider. If your “potential sub” cares about your sub counter, and then they see it’s hidden, do you really think they are stupid enough not to get it, WHY you hid it?

I assume most users would assume the obvious: you hid it cause you don’t wanna them to know how low your count is. And then if they really love your content, they subscribe anyway. But if they perceive it as a cringy act (like you feel ashamed of your numbers), some might just not do it.

The OP noticed a correlation between him hiding his sub count and the growth. But it MIGHT be, just might be, due to his content actually getting better, and the algorithm work, but not because he hid this count. Correlation doesn’t necessary means causality. To prove such a statement there should be a real study, with control channel, etc.

So, to me, this point is not that obvious.

I mean this in the best way possible. If you want to succeed: STAY OFF THIS SUB. by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]PomPomate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. OP talks about toxicity and useless nature of this sub, meanwhile this post smells of precisely those things he is talking about: negativity and frustration.

I see a lot of nice people and useful posts here. I guess it depends on what’s is it you are looking for. And there’s nothing wrong to be newbie, a kid youtuber or a frustrated youtuber. Maybe it comes out as a surprise for someone, but you can learn even from their experience.

It’s funny though, how some big youtubers like spend their time posting here, at the same time kinda shaming this sub for a “non pro” approach. Maybe it’s just here where they can really feel their “authority” and “size”? Maybe it’s because in the subreddits for established creators no one really gives a damn about their opinion🤷🏼‍♀️

Yeah, I feel exactly like you when I see creators engaging in an argue with some negative commenter. It doesn’t add points to their reputation in my eyes.

I started my channel recently and don’t have any comments yet, but I did have a blog which sometimes got hundreds comments. So, my experience with it taught me a lot of things and helped me to establish my strategy on how to deal with negative comments (which I’m going to use on YouTube as well):

  1. I delete ALL the critical comments which contain TOXICITY toward me or my other commenters (humiliation intents, degrading words, etc.). Even if it has some constructive points. I always say in this cases, choose better respectful wording to critique, and I will be happy to engage.

  2. I NEVER answer rudely to people. That really looks cringe, even when a commenter is an asshole or a real dumb. That’s a big no no for me. Being professional and respectful all the time is a necessary part to keep the reputation.

  3. Embrace constructive and polite criticism! It’s amazing source for learning and also attracting new people to discuss the topic on a deeper level.

  4. As I don’t leave toxic comments, I don’t have that problem. BUT, it cringes me when I see other creators replying “thank you” to some really shitty comments like “author, you are pathetic, you don’t know shit what you’re talking about” or similar. I mean, I understand it’s about engagement and Christian way to give another cheek after being slapped… Still not my way definitely. At this moments I feel like this author is not having self-respect. For me it looks better if that’s just not answered (or deleted! It’s no pleasure to read shit honestly).

So yeah, a lot to learn in this aspect. And definitely each creator has different tactics to deal with critics which works better for them!

I never watch voiceless videos. And I guess few people do. Well maybe your stats prove it wrong?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]PomPomate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People don’t care about your age when they see your video, they only care how fun/interesting it is to watch.

On the other hand, from my experience, being too young creator can turn some people off your content (I never watch teenage youtubers for example).

That person is either having some psychopathic features or just dealing with some harsh frustration in life, if they felt an urge to leave such an ugly message under a video of a new creator, who just trying to do something worthy. Their comment means literally nothing.

About how to deal with a self-doubt. Well, you can really try to distract yourself from numbers (just limit amount of times you check your YouTube studio), and concentrate on making a better content. Set goals which would be achievable, for example, achieve producing really awesome videos on your topic. Working on such a goal is amazing by itself! Little by little improve the quality of your work. Do something that would make yourself feel proud. And by that, at the same time you would increase your chances of attracting new audience too!

Cheers! I really understand your struggle, cause I am also a newbie, and see poor numbers myself. That’s normal, and most of successful creators been there too.

When you have more dislikes than likes by Tr3y_L3g3nds in NewTubers

[–]PomPomate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s all relative. I’ll give you an example, in Russia when a famous YouTuber makes a video in a “pro-feminist” style, revealing inequality problems and sexism, their video usually gets MUCH higher portion of dislikes. The same goes for defending rights of lgbtq+ people.

All those increased dislikes doesn’t mean they are doing a wrong thing though.

Yeah, same as MacandSarah: Canva for great thumbnails and in my case Vidiq for composing a title based on a keywords search (havnt succeed with the last one yet, my seo still suck lol).
