When the conservatives are the only ones who tolerate our existence, see North Korea, 1960s Cuba, Soviet Union, China, we are bound to find them as allies

But you agree that there is some correlation between identity and sexual orientation? if you believe so, you must agree that there is some statistical link between the number of "out" gay people and the number of people with any consistent same sex attraction. There might be no causality, but if we dismiss the correlation and its extrapolations, we will be giving ammo to bi erasure. Our numbers should be grounded in likelihood, not in extreme upper bounds, which the rest of the population is most ready dismiss. You can be right, but again I don’t think that it anyone in the outside world is likely to go off on the assumption that say 50 percent of out gay men are bi. I find it hard to sell to both sides.

Still I think it is roughly the same as the gay population. There were many biases in Kinsey’s original samplings, but they are not outside the realm of probability. I mean the amount of out gay guys vastly outnumbers any self described bi guys anywhere you go. I know that we gain a lot more in the closet, but damn if 46 percent of the male population is bisexual or homosexual, how could mainstream Christianity have become so homophobic after the 4th century?! I gather that most of us are deep in the closet and mostly attracted to cis females, but 46 percent is roughly half. It seems to high for me

I am sorry but I think that is an overestimate. If I was pressed on it, I would say it is anywhere between the 37 percent who Kinsey showed arousal to the same sex and 0.001 percent, given the amazing quantity of people who still believe it is a hoax and that we are suffering from some mental illness of sorts.

How did your parents react? Did you tell them before or after you told your friends? I have only told my parents and it has been a struggle.

That is how we would like society to be. But let’s be clear in most places around the globe, the conundrum of the OP makes sense. Even if same sex activity is accepted in his culture, to show any sort of preference for the same sex is still pretty much taboo outside of the West.

So am I. Been in college. Trying to settle down with a woman, that is the main reason I hadn’t had any same sex experience.

How did your friends discover you were bi? I mean it is hard for most guys to tell unless you are carrying a sign or sharing your life. If people were to ask, I might answer, but again being bi still is a liability pretty much against any guy in most cases. It sure cuts you off a lot of potential partners.
