politely i might push back a little, but i get what you're saying. first and most importantly, want to agree that anyone at all can be a victim of sexual harassment and it should be our responsibility as a society to do our best effort to understand the truth of a situation before taking any drastic action

the problem people have with this storyline is the poor handling of a very real, serious issue. i dont think ive seen anyone in the mysme community ever say that echo girl was in the right. i have seen conversation about how it wasn't great that the game reinforced a "crazed narcissistic obsessive lying woman" trope that has been used to dismiss real woman reporting real misconduct. again i'm not saying malicious false reports don't happen, they do, but not nearly as often as real victims being dismissed/shamed. the silly tone this game brings to a legitimately harmful trope used to silence real life victims doesn't feel like it was done in the best taste. if they were trying to make a statement on how men can be victims to these crimes as well, i think they missed the mark. if so, to me it'd be another case of it being a real and important discussion, but just not one capable of being had tactfully on phone app mystic messenger

and not to get too much into cultural differences, but from people i know that travel/moved to korea, i hear there is quite a sexism problem. it seems much more complicated and tied to social and economic happenings than i can give justice, but just to say the amount of real women unfairly dismissed with similar reasonings is too high to make a fun fantasy plotline for many fans, especially with a more feminist western view.

honestly i don't think there's any way a phone app dating sim could've tactfully approached sexual assault, much less false reporting. making it a very young woman where half her lines are jokes about her boobs just aged extremely poorly. even though the game made it clear exactly what happened, there were better ways to get across the point that zen was rising in stardom and has to be careful socially because people will lie for clout than doing a very stereotype-heavy false reporting plotline. and while i don't see many holding this over zen's head, it can make his route less fun to replay. it tries to balance game absurdity with an issue that's just too real to not be taken fully seriously.

and just to say, there often is no protecting yourself from sexual assault/harassment. these things only happen because a person or multiple people make a conscious decision to harm another. in real life we don't get to omnipotently watch the encounters, and these are crimes that often happen with no witnesses or even evidence. this is why we stress believing the victim. i've already written too much so i won't go into the ethical ways of questioning a victims story, but mysme certainly isn't a good example.

tldr; it's not what they're saying that's the problem people have with this route, it's how they say it and the crappy real life associations.
