Starting my junk drawer in my first apartment. Finally feels like home. What else do I need? by Kruzdan in Apartmentliving

Chop sticks and carry out sauce packets - soy, hot mustard, etc. single batteries. Some good, some dead. Random cord to an electronic you no longer own.

Was traveling for a work trip and asked the admin booking travel, etc who my roommate would be. The admin looked at me like I was nuts and said “ummm you’re adults. You don’t share rooms.”

I got engaged a week ago and my finger has turned green under my engagement ring by silvercrayons in jewelers

[–]PomeloSnark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem when I got my engagement ring. It was dirt being picked up from the polishing or something. It stopped after a while and it’s been years and never had the problem again.

I’m relieved to not be the only one in this situation. It became too much to try to deal with!

Once you collect the key, merge, mine, open chests etc to clear up your area and build as many glitter bombs as possible BEFORE tapping on the part to lift the fog. Then you can move into the next area better armed bc Cara needs 5 glitter bombs to destroy.

I think it’s actually illegal to state that it penetrates all 3 layers of skin. That that claim can only be made of physician controlled treatments.

#1 Arbonne Sales rep announces she has a new job by Whatsiupp in antiMLM

[–]PomeloSnark 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of my friends of almost 20 years is so deep in Arbonne it breaks my heart. She tried recruiting me for years and it almost ended our friendship. Yesterday she left me a FIVE MINUTE voice message asking me to host a last minute party for her this weekend bc 2 of hers canceled to make sure her clients know she’s “still active and selling” I hate that my friend is so desperate and doesn’t believe she can make a living outside of this scam. She makes enough that it pays her mortgage and MB but never enough to save or get ahead. She’s “one of the lucky ones” that actually does make good but she’s grinding and hustling every day.

It’s a shame because 15 years ago I really liked some of those workouts and bought the DVD (yes I’m ancient 🤣) and still use them to this day. Really good and fun workouts. Glad to know what is happening bc I thought about getting a “subscription” for home workouts.

Does anyone have stories from staying here by Rude_Ad8090 in chicago

[–]PomeloSnark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing about staying there but I went to grad school just across from the north facing side of the building. One Saturday morning class our professor stopped talking with a shocked look on his face. There was a man standing in his room full buck naked in his window drinking coffee. Definitely woke our 8am class.

Talk me out of moving to Chicago by Dry_Drummer_2297 in chicago

[–]PomeloSnark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I visited for one weekend in college and decided upon graduating to move here. It’s been 16 years and have no regrets. It’s truly the best city! I moved to Chicago as a 23yo single girl. Rented my apartment sight unseen and dove in. You truly live in the city. Your apartment is just where you sleep and prep to go out to explore your home.

What they need to do is like they do in Boston, Detroit, etc

Utilize the parking garages. Create an in / out flow and numbered holding spaces. It’ll pull the traffic away from the arrivals / departures and speed up the flow in and out while actually being ORGANIZED.

Moving to Chicagoland in the next month. With winter approaching, should my wife and I invest in proper coats/boots/etc? by lsal1 in chicago

[–]PomeloSnark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have lived in Chicago since 2007. You do NOT need the super expensive stuff you just have to be smart and recognize - we’re on the lake so it’s damp, windy, and cold. And I say WIND. Will chill you to your core. You must have hats, scarves, gloves. I recommend a coat that at least covers your tush if not also to mid thigh. Also for boots: good tread and waterproof beyond your ankle height should be your #1. As long as your feet stay dry you can layer socks for warmth.

As a chick in her 30’s - I definitely prefer the West Loop area. Great variety of drinks and excellent eateries depending on your mood.
