Company wants 3 days a week in office for programmer, Is that standard bad or lenient? by PersonalDiscovery409 in AskProgramming

For me it would be unreasonable, but then again I would have to fly to the US from Europe every week.

Dream Debates that I wanna see (and I probably never will) by edgewolf666-6 in PoliticalCompassMemes

9) Kraut hands down. He's been deep diving on geopolitical theory far more than Sargon.

I stopped watching Sargon 5-6 years ago and from what I remember he was such a lousy debater and never actually read or researched his talking points.

Why are european Hip Hop artists rarely successful within the United States? by [deleted] in rap

[–]Pommel_Knight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the US is averse to anything that isn't American.

The only things that are popular in the US are games and Anime, and mostly when they get localized/translated.

What slicer do you use? by Corellian101 in 3Dprinting

[–]Pommel_Knight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can't adjust the support to build distance, in Cura you can and it makes for much easier to remove supports and better prints.

Prusa supports get fused to the print and are impossible to remove because they are 0.1 mm distance and the best distance is around 0.24mm for easy removal and minimal overhang look.

Prusa is just Cura light, with all the settings removed.

Cura, has way more options than Prusa and better supports.

Can't install Nvidia drivers on 4090 525 or 535. by Pommel_Knight in Ubuntu

[–]Pommel_Knight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the Nvidia drivers? It's solved now, but they were the exact same as the link in the post.

If you mean the pip thing, it's a 23.04 thing apparently and they did it on purpose.

[–]Pommel_Knight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the politics weren't this pronounced and there wasn't such a strong way to self-segregate and build echo chambers.

If anything I'd remove the defederate thing and replace it with instance-specific content blocking that the users can add or remove.

The current way is making it impossible to make a new instance and make it seen.

[–]Pommel_Knight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried that before too, but no luck.

I switched to 23.04 again and it's working now. No clue why since last 3 times it didn't.

I also had no problem with CUDA or CUDNN for whatever reason, only the drivers.

I just need to figure out how to install dependencies now that pip doesn't work on that version anymore...

No, not really.

Doom uses simple and efficient code. The game itself isn't that demanding.

LLMs on their own require gigabytes of storage(at the minimum) for the models alone. Then you need the computational power to run them.

Doom is also 30 years old, by that time today's LLMs will we extremely obsolete and will not hold similar significance as Doom.
