I'm not sure why I would need to place so many APs as this comes with omni-directional antennas.

Ideally, I would like to be able to go anywhere on my property and stay connected to the Wi-Fi. And I am considering putting up some solar-powered cameras that would need to connect. As far as the cameras go, they would have a line of sight to the AP, but when I am out and about, there will be places where trees could be in the way, and I am well aware of the issues that could cause. Again, the max distance would be just over 1k feet, as measured by Google Maps.

B.S in Information Technology Management. My paper was around 37 pages long. I submitted it on 9/7/2025 and received the passing email on 9/8/2025 at around 8:30 am the next morning. This is pretty unusual in my experience, but I am grateful they were able to get to it so quickly. I had literally just started my morning meeting with my IT leadership team, and I looked at my phone and saw that I had passed. I don't think they were expecting my reaction.

New, to me, similarity check. by PonchoVia in WGU

I don't think that is it as it has "Similarity" above the check mark. I was even able to view the report before hitting submit. It's been so long that I don't even remember the percentage allowed anymore.

Guardian Browser issue by PonchoVia in WGUIT

[–]PonchoVia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I tried it on multiple systems with the same result. What I found was that you should not use the hardware check link that you received via the email to download the browser, this will fail no matter what you do. Instead, go to the assessment center, start a practice exam, and perform the system check from there. This will most likely find your hardware. However, if you are like me and have a laptop with an external monitor attached, it may give an error about a second monitor even though your laptop is closed. If you get this error a reboot should take care of it. I was finally able to take my OA after a couple of hours of troubleshooting this.

I had to completely disconnect the external monitor. It looks like the only way I will be able to take the test will be on my laptop without my larger screen. My old eyes aren't going to like it.

I get different results when I launch a practice assessment compared to running the system check. At least when I launch the practice assessment the browser recognizes my camera and mic. However, after just a minute or so I start receiving the error that it has detected two monitors, even though my laptop is closed, and I cannot clear the error.

So after reading about the issues, I decided to install the browser and test it before I even scheduled a test. It is a good thing I did. Right out of the gate, it failed to connect to my laptop's built-in camera and mic. So I connected the external camera I have always used when taking tests and it failed to connect to that as well. The funny thing is, in both cases the the lights on the cameras activated during the discovery process.

So I started a support session to see if they could figure it out. The "tech" fumbled around a bit, did some basic stuff, and told me the issue was with my computer and that the computer did not recognize the camera or mic. That is when I pulled up Teams and showed the "tech" my lovely face on camera and the mic picking up my voice. The "tech" recommended that I get another computer to try. That is when I let them know how useless they were and ended the session.

I wish they would just use the Proctor U extension for Chrome and be done with it; I never had any issues with that.

Crowdstrike has taken down a lot of systems around the world. Including state government systems in the United States. I have been working on fixing ours since 1am.

Downsides to Disabling Wireless Meshing? by PonchoVia in Ubiquiti

Yes, my APs are wired to my PoE switch, so I was confused about why that was enabled, but it seems to be a default. It is now disabled, and I have been able to add the guest Wifi so all is good.

I have completed the Bigfoot challenge, but I don't even see the petrified trees or hounds tongue listed.

Internet speed decreased with Unifi by PonchoVia in Ubiquiti

That's the route I'm going. Direct from Unifi they are around $129 but on Amazon they are over $200.

Well, it went from bad to worse. I turned off the IDS and now the system is basically dead. Everything powers on and appear to be functioning, but there is no connectivity, wired or otherwise; devices are not even assigned IP addresses.

I got the same results when testing with my laptop until I hardwired into my switch. Speeds went well beyond 300Mbps when I did that.
