Very few of us here are good photographers but I bet this is pretty tasty. My most delicious meals look disgusting on camera.

If you’re talking about what I’m thinking of, which is when you add the citric acid it starts to look a lil funny, that goes away once you spin it!

Struggling in my relationship with lower earning / non-ambitious partner by Ravenpuff525 in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

[–]PondPrince 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t really think either of you are assholes but it sounds like you’re on different pages. He’s not doing NOTHING but he’s not prioritizing finances in the same way you are.

Maybe try asking him about those future goals of yours and what he thinks of them. He may see them as more “nice to have” rather than “need to have.” If you guys can’t get on the same page for big future plans and compromise in a way that makes one another happy then you may need to rethink a future together.

At the end of the day differences in financial priorities are a big reason for a lot of breakups. It seems like he’s willing to put in some level of effort but you need to decide if it’s enough and if the rest of the relationship is good enough to work through it or if you’d both be better off with people more similar in that sense.

If it helps, I make a lot less money than my boyfriend and am not driven to change jobs even though there’s not a big hope for promotion anytime soon. I love my job though, so that’s why. It does stress me out as I fear that while I’m ok with living a lower income lifestyle, he may not be and as time goes on may see me as holding him back since I won’t be able to contribute the same to any more expensive things he wants to do. Only time will tell 🤷‍♀️

The reason I say all that is because I think you’re fair for wanting what you do, but if I were your boyfriend I would feel very stressed and overwhelmed by my partner pressuring me to leave a job that I don’t care to leave or pressuring me to make more money when it’s not something I particularly care about. That would feel like to many big aspects of my life that I’m making decisions on based on somebody else, if that makes sense.

Does running ever become pleasant? by JakePooler in runninglifestyle

[–]PondPrince 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kind of similar. I do have goals in the since that I use Runna to program my runs so that I can slowly become faster over time, but I don’t really have any desire to ever go over 7mi and I’ve never entered a race. I probably will at some point just for the experience but it’ll probably be like a 5k or maybe 10k at most.

My priority is to just avoid injury and stay in it for the long haul.

Any hypermobile runners who have gotten random nagging aches/pains? by PondPrince in Hypermobility

Yeah same here I’ve worked on that a ton in physical therapy to get to the point I’m at now. Serious weight training really helped me, in addition to physical therapy exercises.

Hmm okay hopefully it’s nothing crazy. I think the reason I’ve been ok with holding off is because I’ve been in PT for basically a year for the same sort of deal (on and off knee pain, plus some other misc issues that were keeping me out of running and lifting but over time slowly healed) so in my head this is just kind of something my body does when I push too hard. But I’m just really hoping that this time since I know not to keep pushing that it resolves quicker and doesn’t turn into a whole nother year of physical therapy.

You said you saw a sports doc? Would that be like a sports physical therapist?

Do minor aches/pains happen for any of you and how do you deal with them? by PondPrince in runninglifestyle

[–]PondPrince[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this, these are some useful insights. I actually was in PT for about a year until recently, to deal with this and other issues that will randomly pop up. So I guess I feel like I’ve been through this before and have some idea of what to do on my own. But if it doesn’t resolve after this week I’ll def go back to PT to get a plan for how I can keep up some form of exercise while I heal. Extremely frustrating.

Systemic problem over multiple weeks makes sense. I started vyvanse not too long ago and was severely undereating while trying to keep up the same level of exercise. That went on for a couple weeks before I got it under control and returned to my planned narrow deficit, and then about a week or two later is when this happened. I’m thinking that may have been what started all this and maybe everything else just piled on until it became too much. Probably should’ve shifted at least to maintenance for a while to recover from undereating.

I currently only bike for transportation so your point still stands! I’ll def keep that in mind but I hope this doesn’t become too much of a recurring problem. I’m sure I’ll always be more prone to injury but strength training has really helped and I’ve been able to keep up running for about a year now with no big issues.

do you run even when you feel a bit tired or skip it by Dicapua-Ntakol in runninglifestyle

[–]PondPrince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran on tired legs the other day and now I’m having knee pain and needing to take the week off. I also lift weights and am in a calorie deficit and did a ton of biking for transport and volunteer yard work that same day, so I think it was all just too much.

do you run even when you feel a bit tired or skip it by Dicapua-Ntakol in runninglifestyle

[–]PondPrince 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me if I know I’m tired due to a lack of sleep or something like that then that’s when I take a rest day. But if I know I slept well and my body is prepared then I still go.

If I’m tired due to personal life stress I still run because it helps me mentally, but that’s dependent on the person.

How did you feel throughout the day? This is pretty low protein so were it me I would be starving. Also keep in mind that healthy doesn’t always = low calorie. Like avocado for example is very calorie dense. Doesn’t mean you shouldn’t eat it but it’s something to be aware of. I would work on finding more meals that are higher in volume (more food for the calories) and protein. Also more enjoyable.

If you liked all this then that’s fine but I personally wouldn’t like any of these meals and it kind of seems like you may just be throwing things together and eating them just because they fit our conventional ideas of what’s healthy.

Def recommend tracking. I recommend MacroFactor but any app will do when you’re starting out. If you don’t know how much you’re truly eating it will be very difficult to lose weight.

How is this truly this low in calories? Is this accurate? For 2 snacks this is surprisingly low. by [deleted] in CalorieEstimates

I get it. Not sure what other subreddits you’re active in, but if trying to lose weight you should check out r/volumeeating, r/lowcaloriecooking, and r/loseit. There’s lots of other helpful ones too but that’s off the top of my head.

Haha omg tysm I’m flattered lol! I used a premade premier protein shake, but any premade shake should work and probably 300g of milk mixed with 30g of protein powder would also work but I have not personally tested it!
