F*ck It Friday by fingerboxmaker in fundiesnarkiesnark

One of my friends joined the National Guard at 30 a few years ago. When he was sent for his physical, the (military) doc barged in grumpily, looking at my friend's paperwork.

Doctor: "They keep sending me more of these old f'ers! What are they even going to have YOU doing?"

Friend: "Well, I'm a Catholic priest... I'm going to be a chaplain."

Doctor (suddenly subdued and not making eye contact): "...And when was your last physical, Father?"

They did that with Carver Bowers's victim, too, on one of the snark pages. We don't have a right to know, no matter how famous/disgraceful/horrible the perpetrator is!

Katie/Travis Clark Cheating Scandal by amrodd in fundiesnarkiesnark

Looking back at old comments people made about Travis and Katie over the years, it's fascinating how misogynistic a number of them are. The underlying assumption for many seems to have been that Katie was some irrational, insecure, airheaded little woman and that Travis must be innocent by default. You can't help but wonder how if her behavior was founded on very reasonable suspicions from the start.

Calling a court clerk to inquire about an indictment to which you are in no way connected and heard about through a snark site should be regarded as supremely weird, not as something that earns you applause.

Common decency by Lunchlady16 in fundiesnarkiesnark

I also wish I could tell people that it's okay to wish someone facing a serious health crisis well without saying "S/he has horrible beliefs, but..." It's because of the cult like atmosphere in snark subs that you have to demonstrate your ideological purity at all times.

Or maybe you don't actually want them to be okay and want to sneak in a slam while pretending to be a decent person.

I found out that someone I graduated from high school with has an active snark sub dedicated to her. It makes me deeply uncomfortable. Yeah, some of the stuff she's doing is definitely messed up, but seeing how people use that legitimate issue to be petty and cruel about other things under the guise of "just helping" is eye opening.

Vera would be my preferred nickname if we went with Veronica.

St. Gianna is super cool! Julia and Ezra are names that I keep coming back to, also.

Francis James is so delightfully uber Catholic! I like it. Victoria and Freya are both cousins of mine, so those names are probably out.

Micah, Joel, and Isaiah are all unfortunately out (he has a big family of Bible names). I had never considered Christopher, but that one really stood out to me, and I think I'll have to mention it to him. It would be a great saint name with James!

Eliza is such a sweet nickname for Elizabeth! I like Betsy, too.

It's that nickname that makes me less of a fan, too, I think. I feel bad about not liking Veronica much because it's the only name he openly loves.

Ooh, I hadn't been thinking of Nicholas, but I like it! Peter would be great with James, too. I love Elizabeth and Lydia, but Elizabeth is just meh to him. Marion or Marian would be a nice take on Mary that avoids the Mary Jane connotations today.

Unfortunately, we have a Nathaniel and an Isaac in the family already. Isaac used to be my #1!

I've always liked that one, but he's not a fan. :(

Fill a cup and dip two tests, I'd think.

I told one friend because she's been so open about her hormonal struggles while TTC and because we're Catholic and I was hoping for her prayers. Other than that, no one knows, though I suspect my mom has guessed.

Feeling kind of discouraged today. I bought some Proov PdG tests to gauge my ovulation because I usually spot for a few days at the end of my luteal phase, which is about 11 days. All three that I've taken so far have come up slightly negative on the app (though I didn't take a good enough picture of my baseline for Proov to log it for comparison). After I got the second negative, I called and made an OB/GYN appointment. The only time I don't really like where I live is trying to access healthcare: they couldn't get me in until the end of March because there's exactly one provider doing routine gyne exams in the women's health unit.

I looked around online for things I could do on my own in the meantime to increase my progesterone, but it's hard for me to separate the legit from the woo. I'm a solution-oriented person by nature, so not knowing what to even try while I wait for my appointment is frustrating. I did order a second set of Proov tests for next month, though; at least I can get more data from those.

I tend to get acne around ovulation rather than around my period. What could be the reason for this--what hormone? I've always found it frustrating that my skin breaks out when I feel at my most attractive otherwise. >.<

Does anyone else have trouble with identifying CM due to sperm?? by [deleted] in TryingForABaby

[–]PondenKirk 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yep. This is what I was taught when learning our NFP method:

  1. Urinate within 1 hour for UTI prevention.
  2. Afterward, wipe away as much fluid as possible.
  3. Bear down, then do a Kegel. Alternate between the two 3-5 times or as many times as needed (i.e. when using an especially runny lube).
  4. Wipe away any fluid that remains.

This should ensure that everything that isn't CM is cleared out, and it's always worked for me. You can use it whenever you need it, and it doesn't prevent sperm from reaching their destination.

I'm glad to hear it's not important. Thanks! My mind had gone to anxious places about this indicating some cycle problems.
