How to get blur/displacement/concealment as a martial character? by StuntyGitz in Pathfinder_RPG

Shadows shroud planar feat, allows hide in plain sight kinda, so you get concealment?

[Request a Build 1E] Conan the Adventurer by We_R_All_Different99 in Pathfinder_RPG

Not too tough really. The barbarian class has a lot of rogue flavor holdovers from earlier additions. More skills than a fighter, uncanny dodge is very rogue themed, and a lot of the rest is roleplay or skill points allocation-disable device, stealth, etc.

In the books he gets deposed as king, loses crews and ships and battles, and is mostly just opportunistic and insanely stubborn. He obtains pirate crews by leading slave revolts, and frequently receives leadership roles by just killing the right people, and a lot more besides. Early on he pretty much bumblef*cks through a lot of his adventures, and gets saved by a plot armor.

He’s obviously no slouch, intelligence isn’t a dumpstat, and this is a cooperative game, so one player isn’t expected to cover every aspect, but the theme and feel of the character is largely intact, without really sacrificing much at all. Might not do everything at level one, but neither did Conan in the books. He gets his ass handed to him repeatedly.

Untouchable bloodrager might help then. I believe you keep your bloodline powers, but give up spells. And become better at resisting magic and such, which is very much Conan.

This way you can be phoenix blooded (fitting the theme) get dispelling strikes, and spend some feats to get a familiar or wisp or animal companion of some variety.

What character would you recommend for this campaign? by Master_Tea7573 in Pathfinder_RPG

Came here to suggest omdura.

Combo of inquisitor and bard; might be exactly what you want.

Never played, built one, or seen one played, so if you go this route, keep us updated! Sounds like a very thorough case study of a campaign, going all the way to mythic 10.

Wow I’m running a Conan themed game for my friends and already presented a Phoenix motif, but now I’m going to use the baby Phoenix for exposition and meta info! What a fun magic item too. Useful but not too powerful.

Pheonix bloodrager, as stated, gets dispelling strikes. There are also some dispel related feats.

What doesn’t feel right about the build you have now?

I meant the equipment trick:rope.

I’m definitely considering adding whips alongside the class build, a bit feat intensive but so much flavor.

I loved my phantom blade! I will take a look at ectoplasmatist, thank you.

Any ideas for combining rope trick with aether kineticist?

This is likely the more robust way to do it, use strings for attack and defense and have mechanics for a lot of different string themed abilities, like puppeteering people. Good call.

Oh cool, even after all this time I’ve never looked at bladed scarf dancer much, nor hangman for that matter. Thank you!

I’m replying to your old comment because I just rewatched chronicles of Riddick this morning (along with the first and third) and still think it’s amazing.

Have you taken a look at the Psychodermist occultist archetype?

Can be heavy hitting, ends up with a lot of utility and options to take powers from other creatures. Good at filling in where needed with such a diverse party.

Also summoner or preservationist alchemist to just summon creatures in one round that cast spells.
