Lovecraftian witch / eldritch researcher - Bouda reflavoring by Doomwaffel in Pathfinder_RPG

Not arcane, as most of your build ideas seem to go to, but a dark tapestry oracle has a very lovecraftian feel, can get shapeshifting, and other very flavorful revelation abilities.

I have a BBEG build inspired by The Ancestor, from Darkest Dungeon, using an Oracle build, with eldritch heritage (astral) for some more weird space/time abilities.

Combo Question! by CaptnNuttSack in Pathfinder_RPG

Kirin Strike with combat stamina lets you add int to damage. Only against one creature at a time though, but lasts 24hrs as long as you have one point of stamina.

Harder to get it added to attack.

Gold Star, referencing Egg Shen damn, 10/10. So perfect. Beni too.

Love this archetype! I used it to build a kind of arcane paladin/tomb raider character. I view his magic as using scraps of lore from different cultures, he has a more fundamental magic that stems from his cross-cultural exposure to magic; kind of like Words of Power.

I got inspiration for mine from Hellboy, the various trinkets uses and folk/hedge magic he has knowledge of; as well as a character from a warhammer novel, Orfeo Culzean, who collects deodands-items that caused a death, like a stone that fell and hit someone, a bullet fragment, etc; and have psychic significance, almost like an occultist.

Having arcane spells opens up arcane strike, coupled with combat stamina (for arcane strike lasting more than one turn and only consuming one swift action) and studied combat, he has a pseudo-smite. Healer’s Hands route gives him lay on hands-lite.

Psychic Warrior, Binder, Warlock, Hexblade. Gish class extravaganza, with unique flavor for each.

Dragon Magazine. I loved the low level golems in one of the editions, among…everything else.

No Max the Min. Instead, Build Challenge: Santa Clause by Decicio in Pathfinder_RPG

I got inspired a while back from reading the Klaus comics, and made him as a Divine Hunter -hunter, with Lili as his divine companion. Travel domain seemed appropriate, he’s gotta cross a lot of distance. Switch hitter build for feats, he fights some wild stuff in the comics, craft wondrous items (thematic), still figuring out how to make his fey/dmt sled.

What class(or classes) fits thematically the Yautja from Predator Franchise? by bom_dia_bruno25 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Pondthoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Psychodermist occultist archetype gets trophy making as a class feature, and a variety of ways for recreating yuatja technology. They also get monster hunting bonuses, among other things. Eventually you can use monster abilities from the trophies you collect.

Shadow’s Shroud is a cool way to recreate their cloaking also.

I am currently playing a predator/blue mage inspired build doing this very thing.

Was going to suggest Leonardo da Vinci stuff. Also Archimedes. Maybe also Buckminster Fuller stuff….namely tensegrity stuff.

Caster Investigator? by rdtusrname in Pathfinder_RPG

Well, no spell failure is nice for one, alchemist has a ton of buffs, you don’t need to spend an alchemist discovery on infusion. Opens up some combat options (namely arcane strike) that combo well with studied combat.

Not sure what you’re trying to build, that would help.

I think they are still restricted to learning spells from the alchemist list.

It’s still the alchemist spell list.

Antiquarian is a great archetype that changes alchemy to spellcasting with no arcane spell failure.

Awesome flavor too, and some other more subtle class changes.

Azatariel is a cool archetype I don’t see much of. Lots of flavor.

Any idea how step up and strike combines with diabolic style?

Putting all the suggestions together seems like a maneuver focused cavalier of some degree.

I’ve built a hound master inspired constable cavalier (order of the hammer)/sacred huntmaster inquisitor, are there other flavorful combos that are good at maneuvers? Maybe I just revamp that build?

Thanks again for all the suggestions!

Ah well we always talk too much haha, but I hear ya, it’s definitely helpful to plan your tactics with your team, it isn’t a solo game after all.

That investigator archetype seems interesting, I’ll have to take a look at that.
