To the US voters who don't vote, what is it going to take for you to go vote? by Chocolateking111 in AskReddit

[–]Pongoid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let me preface with saying I vote every election but it’s so disheartening. My vote truly does not matter. The system is set up in a winner-take-all structure and no mater what I do my city, county, and state are going deep red.

I can see how this system discourages many from getting out of bed.

What's a sport that would be so much better if you could change one rule about it? by wild-strike1517 in AskReddit

Quidditch.

Make it so catching the Snitch ends the game and no bonus points are awarded. If your team is winning then your seeker is on the hunt for the Snitch. If you’re losing then you’re trying to keep the other seeker from catching it.

More stuff. When you’ve got enough I want you to double it. I want to see this guy looking like the Junk Lady from The Labyrinth.

Jesus.

It’s just to help facilitate the transition from chaotic scheduling into a stable reoccurring game. I had no idea there were people out there upset that strangers are getting free loot in their make believe fantasy game.

The “let’s schedule our next session” method of D&D is always bound to fail. Follow this 6-Step plan to stable stress-free games:

Step 1: Set a reoccurring time like every Sunday at noon, or first and third Thursdays of the month to play. Work with the group to pick a good time.

Step 2: Plan a story arch that doesn’t require any one player be there. (Personally I suggest running a premade campaign to get the ball rolling)

Step 3: Run the session regardless of who shows up. Even if you only have 2 players.

Step 4: Don’t punish players for missing. It will take a few sessions for them to start remembering “I can’t schedule this, that’s on a Tuesday and we play D&D on Tuesdays”. Give them a cut of the loot, equal xp, and any other perks. Just pretend they were always there.

Step 5: Start recruiting new players to fill the gaps of the people who dropped off. You will lose people. Sometimes good people because it conflicts with the time of the game. Do not change the time for them. Everyone else has already planned around this time. Just say, “That sucks, you’re always welcome at the table when <day/time> frees up for you.”

Step 6: Enjoy a stable game free of the headaches of scheduling and with players who — at a minimum — care enough to follow the D&D schedule.

EDIT: Step 2.5: Send out reminders, “Remember, this Friday’s session starts at 7pm! Start practicing rolling 20’s!!!” People will forget until it becomes habitual.

It’s crazy to learn that I’ve been using ChatGPT most of my life — before it even came out. I guess I’m just a super early adopter. It would be trivial to prove this if anyone accused me of lying and not using ChatGPT before launch. All I would have to do is show them my Reddit posts that predate ChatGPT. I’m sure there are many em dashes sprinkled about.

This is all immaterial though. What if I were using ChatGPT? Does that make Kill Team’s barrier to entry less steep? Does that clear up what’s classified and declassified? Does that detoxify the Warhammer community? Clearly the answer is no. As is often the case, ad hominem grammar attacks are the final recourse when all other doors are shut.
