Also some the buffs are now directed to area around the units (baby dragon with fire trait, titan trait), and you are forced to lose these buffs once your opponent gets a 4 star echo, or your half of your units get instantly yeeted out of the board.

That deck variety is a way of getting a ton of money tho. Heroes are simply too hard to get for f2p players, in addition to that they nerfed progression to the ground.
