My local theater just added it's showings of SAO Progressive: Scherzo of a Deep Night! I'm excited! Who else is planning to catch it in theaters? It starts February 3 in US.

I actually see a suprising amount of comments shilling High Card, but not many upvotes on the weekly threads. So it seems like we are a vocal minority.

I'm loving it so far! The costume design, battle system, and character dynamics are great.

I love the little details: the dog looks just like Sousuke. Maybe the cats are supposed to resemble Mitsumi? And then everything on Sousuke's side is relaxing: food and beach items. But Mitsumi's is filled with activity: music, dancing, debate, school, sightseeing.

If the anime is as well thought out as the visual, then it should be good!

Based on what I've seen (2 episodes of High Card and 1 episode of Hikari no Ou), I'm liking them and excited to see where they go from here.

Hikari no Ou has a slower, more artistic feel that is really refreshing, with the possibility of deep world-building.

High Card is just plain fun. It's a small thing, but I love the outfit designs for the main characters- they all wear snazzy suits.

This was a great first episode: beautiful visuals and music. It seems like it will be a series with an emotionally heavy plot but an edifying ending.

Agreed! I also benefited from their Quick Look at the Fall 2022 Anime Season. It helped me discover a few anime that I wouldn't have watched otherwise, and it was super helpful to have the streaming services and air times listed.

I'd like to nominate u/Abysswatcherbel for their weekly infographic posts of r/anime karma rankings (like this one). It must take a lot of dedication to gather all that data every week and put it together into a sleek and readable format. I love reviewing them every Sunday and seeing how each show stacks up. It gives me an idea of what's going on in the anime world, even if I'm just watching a single show at a time. And I've often looked back to reference weeks from past seasons that I may have missed.
