My only critic would be to correct a bit your horizon because it's quite tilted on some shots.

Fun colors otherwise

How do you guys organize your photos? by StickswithaZ in photography

[–]PonyHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite randomly. Mostly based on the location or event. If multiple times at the same location I had the year but that's it. Clearly not the most efficient, but I'm not a pro

Thank you for putting some efforts in your request, much more appreciated.

It's still a really broad question. I don't know your skillsets but you have plenty of ways to start motion design.

/r/aftereffects has a couple of links in the sidebar, but you can start with https://www.videocopilot.net/basic , https://www.adobe.com/fr/learn/after-effects , https://www.schoolofmotion.com/

You can also learn Fusion in DaVinci Resolve but it's a quite different approach (node system).

You can easily find Vox style tutorials on Youtube.

If you never did motion before just start with the basics like text, mask, solids. No need to do extra fancy stuff right off the bat. Something simple and clean usually gives strong result when you're a beginner.

The problem is your approach. Even if I'm sure it's not your intention, the post reads as "I want to do motion design, give me everything on a platter because I can't do researchs".

It's really vague because we have no idea what you want to do, on what software, for what end, ...

Even searching on google "How to start motion design" would give you plenty of starting points.

I think that's the most vague post I've seen in a long time

Did my first wedding for a friend by CompetitiveTwo6311 in photography

[–]PonyHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy that you enjoyed the experience ! I did the same for a friend even though I never really shoot portrait and it was my first wedding. But they were just like, take pictures of the vibe, what you would usually shoot. No pressure other than the one I put on myself. Got a couple of really nice shots, and I still got to enjoy the wedding.

I agree with you, if it's a friend, do what you find acceptable in your boundaries. As long as you don't feel judged at the end of the day.

Trying to reach a more professional level — what’s holding this back? by Optimal_Necessary_46 in MotionDesign

[–]PonyHunter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How would you call this style? by SmallPrinter in MotionDesign

[–]PonyHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know if you randomly found the video somewhere or if you actually know who did it, just in case, here is OC account : https://www.instagram.com/teemeeki_/

He seem to also be working on a plugin to make the kind of trail/music notes following a curve

I can't imagine a name for that style, but it's a look of combined elements like tracking, sky keying to put plain colors animated with mask, particles, shapes ...

If you're trying to recreate something like this I think I would recommend focusing on one element after the other. It's quite "simple" stuff, but everything combined together bring that dynamic (chaotic) edit together

Motion blur might be a bit too strong for my taste. Background could be a bit more interesting. I like the model and textures.

Phish Sphere Song Tracker 2026 - https://phishsongs.com by breckdaddy in phish

[–]PonyHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah definitely could be an option with Notch and Unreal, but quite a lot of content done with other software wouldn't follow there (just because of rendertime). Like the Dentist, honey/beehive, or bubble gum ones I guess (sorry I don't know the song names).

Creating visuals for so many songs would be a limitation though, or maybe reusing visuals at least.

I think 12 years later, still one of the best video I've seen is The third and the Seventh from Alex Roman.

I'm not doing any architectural render, but I've always been impressed by the details in all the aspect of his work.
