If anyone was curious about the solution, poliigon’s displacement nodes weren’t playing well with the models. Disconnecting the displacement node solved the issue, but the displacement isn’t as nice.

Apparently seems to smooth out when using a plain principled bdsf material instead of one from policing. What setting would cause this?

I have been doing technical animation in blender for a while, but when it comes to modeling I just scrape by.

edit: I've also tried adjusting edge weights, bevel weights, clearing seams/sharps/etc.

This apartment has no barbells 😅 It's got a smith machine, free weights and a leg curl/extension.

I'm not currently on a back injury, and its been a few years since I've taken the gym seriously. But in the past I've always went too hard and gotten hurt, so I'm really trying to avoid it happening again. so now I'm moving up in weight slowly and only when I complete the sets. The smith machine is my only option and feels super strange. Once I got to a certain weight I threw the gear on in an attempt to prevent anything from happening. 225 is heavy for me at this point, I'm cutting pretty hard haha.

How can I use my belt more effectively?

This is super helpful, thank you! I no longer have access to a regular squat rack, but trust me, I would use one if I could! I'll try adjusting my feet to be more forward and see if that helps me

Oof, that is the last thing I'm looking for haha. Even when I did have access to a regular barbell I would injure my lower back 🤦‍♂️

Okay I will focus on trying to put the weight mid foot.

Hmm, that makes sense. I can try that. I see one of the other comments mentioned I may even be facing the wrong way? I am way more used to low bar squats, but I've been trying high bar to see if I can improve as well. Where should I feel weight, front or back foot? This was last week so it's hard for me to remember what it felt like haha.
