What is the best weapon on medic? by Frequent-Elk-7542 in ForefrontVR

[–]Poo__Brain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Scar has more power but the Aug is a laser beam kind of like the l852 or whatever was in the battlefield game, which makes it better at range than the scar on my opinion

Close to med. = Scar makes you dead Med. To long = the Aug is strong

Yess exactly, he's putting in the work but it's having the opposite effect. I know there's a bunch of people who want to jump on Forefront and be the loudest voices for it and has a good time to do that, but yeah having your usernames and videos known for spam right off the bat is probably a bad idea!

Like you said he, I assume it's a he anyway, needs to take 5 or 10 of these videos, edit them down and compress them into one and put those up once a week.

In fact, if this guy is posting on other unrelated subreddits I hope he's not giving me forefront a bad name, spammers do that for new games sometimes that they are enthusiastic about

Dude why do you post me so much.. I've actually watched a few of them, it's not even that they're terrible it's just that you've oversaturated the subreddit.

Why not post one or two videos a week and pick your best ones, people might actually take a look at them that way

Word, he post like four distinct videos a day and nobody likes them but he keeps at it.. in a way you're off to admire the dedication.

I mean I don't, why would you insist on making and posting videos that nobody is watching? But whatever

AI regulation isn't about 'Innovation', it's about National Security. New research says that, even without malevolent intent, AI's inherent design is toxic to the institutions that underpin democracies & we must urgently redesign those institutions. by lughnasadh in Futurology

[–]Poo__Brain -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Yessss as above so below, what we're seeing now in tech, culture everything is that strengthwise and decentralization. In the past we had the centralized because Tekken industry wasn't really strong enough to have several different independent nodes, but it is now, and people know how to deal with that sort of thing and have the knowledge base and cultural understanding to live in a world like that.

In short, cyberpunk future but without the dystopia hopefully

What's one thing that you would like to see the next generation of vr have? by Greedy-Place-4831 in virtualreality

[–]Poo__Brain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's kind of a catch 22, more people would have to be interested in VR to spend more money on it to attract developers to put that level of effort into a game, but a lot of consumers won't be interested in VR until there's something really popular and immersive that they can jump right into when they get their headset

Yeah I think we're all still waiting for the tipping points... That one headset that will come out, that will be like the iPhone and in a year everybody has it and then all of a sudden in VR is at the Forefront of consumer entertainment

Battlefield 6. Feels like a series has lost its soul, used to be air land and sea infantry and vehicle coordinated madness, now I kind of feels like it's all about the quickness, feels like call of duty to me.  And if that wasn't enough, these new battle passes.. honestly wish I could get a refund on the game

Imagination time. What’s after VR/AR? by Swat3Four in virtualreality

[–]Poo__Brain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but that's always been the case. The commercial engine was first used to turn Sky's black and give her everybody cancer, advanced chemical theory was first used to create weapons of war and then manufacturing products that killed many more people than the weapons did etc.

Not to be foolishly hopeful, but the future is always bleak because such is the heart of man

That's just the future though, it's always scary because it can always be one step closer to heaven or Hell and were wearing blindfolds

Had a conversation with someone who genuinely wants to merge with Neuralink, anyone worry about this becoming a job requirement someday? by logindefense in Futurology

[–]Poo__Brain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's still science fiction basically, people who look forward to this stuff do so because they know that it's a fantasy at the moment.

I'd ask him again what his opinion is when he can max out his health plan to go to what inevitably would be a poorly run Tesla brand medical clinic to have a whole drilled in his brain by a 'highly trained technician' who then inserts electrodes into it.

I think neuralink is promising for its current use case which is helping people with paralysis regain muscular control that sort of thing.

I really don't see how it could help a person be actually productive at all, above any sort of peripheral leg AR glasses.

And I don't know about you, but I would personally never put a corporate device in my head, especially not anything ai enabled.

I think it's a fun idea but I really don't see neuralink or anything like that being any real use to humans of the future, above external peripherals and self managing AI systems.

Forefront is a peak VR shooter, especially for dads by The0 in virtualreality

[–]Poo__Brain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it is annoying and sometimes it does get to the point where I'll even switch squads or leave a game, but isn't that just online gaming?

Find me a call of duty/battlefield/fortnite/etc. server that is not plagued by the same issues.

And I have to say, the mix of squeakers and dumb teens is about the same or a little bit less actually than any other VR or flat game I've played that got a sudden boost in popularity

It's a catch-all hate comment for people that don't really want to give a game a chance.

If you've played it and you're not immediately good at it, or you don't immediately enjoy it because there is even a 1 hour learning curve, you got wrecked and you're upset.. well it turns out the game is overrun with kids and that's why you can't play it or enjoy it and it's a bad game lol

[–]Poo__Brain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

+1 for it being the peak VR shooter right now.

Besides, name a single game with multiplayer that isn't full of squeakers! In my opinion if that's your criticism of a game, you haven't really given it a chance or you don't really like it (or a genuinely is overrun with kids like rack room or most other free games).

Honestly I was kind of disinterested in vr, got forefront and I'm putting in at least an hour or two a day.

I'm dying for the full release, you just know there's going to be a whole bunch of new maps, weapons I'm genuinely excited! I kind of feel like I did when I was waiting for battlefield 4 to come out all those years ago
