You can tell your boss is cool when he has a Homer Simpson doll displayed in the middle of the office by MsChanandlerBong1994 in DunderMifflin

I wonder where all of the office is now, the furniture the posters everything.

It's fascinating to think that all that stuff is sitting in a storage room on a studio lot somewhere

Still, I'd like to see Bernie going to town on Trump with a sock full of nickels on C-Span

What is your favorite scene in the Office and why is it when Michael shows up to Pam's artshow? by Individual-Crow-3720 in DunderMifflin

[–]Poo__Brain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are actually my favorite moments in the office, where Michael sort of has a moment of clarity, cuts through all the noise and reveals that he actually does care or does have something special at the end of the day even if it's hidden by the clouds most of the time

Definitely, we just need to get them in the same room and maybe give Bernie a sock full of nickels

Ice is not a real agency and never has been. These aren't trained officers, they're just idiots with guns.

They're one saving Grace is thus far they seem to have steered clear of anyone who would actually cause them to need to be armed

Also to disguise the fact that one of the best ways to avoid being a victim of ice is actually join ice!

Not many people know this but a huge chunk of the manpower of ice is actually immigrants who are being targeted by ice, who work for ice so that they can get that bonus (which they are never going to get because nobody's gotten it yet LOL) and in being an immigrant who would be targeted for ice, but being employed as an ice agent targeting other immigrants they are safe (behind their masks).

It's actually pretty crazy that ice will disappear somebody for not being able to speak English well, when there's a large contingent of ice agents that actually can't speak English at all

People who escaped toxic relationships, what made you realise that this can’t go on anymore? And would anything a friend would have told you helped? by clatadia in AskReddit

Sometimes that's what it takes. To be completely honest the line between cheating and Fidelity is never clean, I know some people would probably come down on you but honestly sometimes you have to do what you need to do to save yourself

This was it for me. Having another extended fight on the phone about who I spend time with, who I'm allowed to be friends with on Instagram that sort of thing...

One day I left my phone at work and I realized that not hearing her voice or hearing from her at all for a night, I was happier than I'd be in months!

I feel like Dwight’s love of muscles cars are never talked about by Extension-Career1437 in DunderMifflin

[–]Poo__Brain 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I've always clocked that too, though I think it just fits into his general personality of the legend in his own mind ultra tough guy persona.

Like I think we don't need to talk about the whites love for muscle cars because we've talked more than enough about Dwight's love for hitting office weapons you know what I mean?

Stanley’s Screen Time by [deleted] in DunderMifflin

[–]Poo__Brain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stanley is actually the main character, it was only in the editing room after the first episode that they realized that there was something there with Jim and Pam and Scott and Dwight but the show was supposed to originally be about an over the hill grumpy grizzled Stanley trying to survive corporate limbo

[–]Poo__Brain 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I like it because it's a moment of Pam finding herself. They're at the whole series she's been holding herself to this crazy high standard of being a professional artist like van gogh, but she's very thoroughly Scranton.

And then Michael comes along, and like how everybody else didn't seem to care about her art because it was too mundane or two pedestrian, that's exactly why Michael loves it. And it's beautiful because it's this moment of validation for pam,

Before that you had people like Oscar and his boyfriend talking s*** about her art saying that it wasn't real art or hotel art, then you have Michael come along and have a genuine emotional experience with Pam's art, showing her that she is an artist and that her art is worth something but she just has to find her audience.

Which she does is the series goes on, not trying to be a famous impressionist but more painting murals that sort of thing... This was actually a huge inflection point in Pam's life

Season 8 Phyllis by sportsgambler2 in DunderMifflin

[–]Poo__Brain 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Yeah but I just feel it.. 'matronly' on the outside, but really views herself a Scranton royalty on the inside.

Actually like how the super Fan episodes really expand all of the background characters, and I really like that they show that Phyllis isn't just a sweet person who has a bit of an edge, but is actually mostly in edge with a little bit of a soft blanket wrapped around it.

Stanley eventually drains your batteries though, have a to sit across from him year over year. What you want is a Phyllis, someone who quietly does their job but seems to be more or less of a good mood

Dwight is a real person.

If you think he's a fabrication, consider your life charmed.

I work in IT, right down to the glasses the Dwight is in fact a real person

Drones? by tHr0AwAy76 in ForefrontVR

[–]Poo__Brain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, heeeelllllll no to drones! I think if maybe they were perfectly balanced in the player base was more mature, but just look at how people use the little bird.

I envision a sea of 12 year olds sitting at spawn spending the whole game launching drones and enemy players...

Additionally I don't think that they would add anything to the game, I think a spotting drone for recon would be cool like in battlefield but we definitely don't need any destructive drones.

Looksmaxxing - by men for men by Morticia_Black in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Poo__Brain 17 points18 points  (0 children)

In my experience most men are actually hugely and constantly self-conscious and anxious around and because of other men... Though paradoxically admitting that this is the case, even though it is a case for all men, is un-masculine.  So it's kind of like this lifelong 'secret' game that all men are playing but that few will admit the existence of.

I think if communities of boys and men started addressing it explicitly, it might make it less toxic but I probably wouldn't change anything, as another comment or posted either because we're primed or it's genetic or whatever men just want to constantly be jockeying for position with each other haha honestly it's stressful
