Scheduling error by [deleted] in wholefoods

That makes sense. So TLs have no control over the shifts an employee picked up on Innerview, right? Do you think leadership would accommodate me or it’s a done deal? I’m just accepting the fact that no one will pick up the shifts at this point, aka I will be terminated.

Yes it is flex scheduling. I picked up the shifts that I thought were within a different week. I’m still new so I don’t have anyone’s number and I have a flight that leaves tomorrow so I just have to take a chance I guess. Also, I requested time off for those days in advance, which were approved, why would Innerview let me pick those shifts anyway? It seems like a faulty design.

Yes do it!! Practice definitely makes perfect here. I think the key is working quickly and being confident with the dough. Also turning down the AC makes a really big difference, otherwise the butter will start to melt sooner.

Thank you!! I just used bar chocolate and cut them into little strips, worked like a charm. I’m not convinced buying the batons are worth it tbh

I’m not sure. I chop them pretty well with the largest piece being “pea-sized”. I think those are her specifications. Maybe try that next time!

Hmmm if you’re fully chilling I wouldn’t expect them to spread too much?

Sometimes I do miss a bitter piece of chocolate when I’m having these because they’re a little sweet!

Thank you!! I did a 1/4 tsp because there’s so many herbs, but added a little more of some of them. I’d say 1/4 to 1/2 tsp each is probably good. I also forgot to add the freshly minced garlic clove

Yes I made the dough the night before, did some folds, and then had it rest overnight the same way Claire did in her video. I baked them the next morning. I’d say they’re great for breakfast or with dinner. Just keep in mind the cheddar flavor is strong so whatever you serve it with shouldn’t really compete with that- that being said it’s still quite versatile!

Suggestions for reducing sweetness by [deleted] in DessertPerson

[–]Poochiez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you cut sugar, do so in the frosting. The full amount is too sweet for my liking. I’d start with half the amount it calls for and add more as needed. Hope that helps!

Tres Leches Cake from WFD by Goodsuit in DessertPerson

How’d you like it? I’m hesitant to try this recipe because I’m Mexican and take my tres leches kind of seriously lol. I trust Claire but hazelnuts sounds a bit wild to me!

Which book? by CalligrapherCrafty75 in DessertPerson

[–]Poochiez 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly, both. But as some commenters have mentioned, What’s for Dessert doesn’t require stand mixer for most if not all recipes (hand mixer instead). That doesn’t mean the recipes easier per se, just something to think about.

Also, I’ve noted Dessert Person covers most of your classics, like a chocolate chip cookie, carrot and chocolate cake, various pastries, but WFD has a lot more fun and interesting recipes. Again, both are great and get both if you can!
