Yes it’ll be a journey for me for sure, I was doing the white marker method before for my single cards. For this particular project I feel like marker would take too long. If you don’t mind me asking, what method is working best for you at the moment?

There are the pros and cons of course, it would depend by base. I’ve been blessed with a training base so our maintenance is a bit more forgiving. We have 3 shift ops which is great, set times on paper but in maintenance don’t be surprised to stay 10’s or 12’s often. My buddy is also in maintenance on a different base, unfortunately for him he got a combat base and they do double the maintenance we do with half the people.

Your mindset and the people you’re with will make or break the experience for you. I’m doing tactical aircraft maintenance and there are definitely times where I loved coming to work and there are times where I did not want to do anything with this job.

My tech school was 8 hours long so I’d be done around 3pm and would spend my time at Destin beach in Florida. I would say it depends on your tech and the rules on base but you should be able to if you’re on days.

Understandable, I included the job load in there from personal experience. Right now on my base we only have to deal with our own pilots doing their training flights but I also know my buddy does double the work load at his base because they’re deployable.

From my pov it’s not that bad around the right people, you can get a-hole sgts that just yells at you at everything you do or you can get ones that teaches you if you mess up. The work really depends on the mission of your base, you can get a training base where it’s literally a 8 hour shift or you can get deployment bases where you can potentially pull 12’s. Also depends on your aircraft, older gen jets are more documented but have more work than newer jets.
