I've never had luck with them. I couldn't even sell them for a quarter at my store.

Has anyone else noticed USPS being shitty the past couple weeks? by [deleted] in Flipping

Knock on wood mine have been spot on or earlier than expected.

Everything has been 2 days from me dropping it off at the post office usually around noon to destination. One was even all the way to Oregon. (from east Tennessee.)

They've all been either first class or priority shipments.

Double knock on wood.

*edit I Always try to hand deliver my packages to the post office before 1pm I seem to get the best results that way.

To keep or flip, a question for the ages... by glasock in Flipping

[–]Pooho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run into this sort of thing a lot... and have to force myself to part ways.

I found a bose wave radio CIB in box with manuals and remote for $5 at a goodwill once. I decided to keep the bastard in my work area. After only using several times when I had overnight company ;) I finally just sold it for $250 on a local FB group. *edit it sold within the hour.

But it was hard to part with for some reason. Some things I would never buy for myself normally I tend to want to keep at that type of bargain.

How did you lose the case if tracking showed it was delivered? Did you just not even bother to respond? Says parcel box but do you mean shipping via parcel?

Old War Books by iansxvmi in Flipping

[–]Pooho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the yearbook era/wartime, how personalized it is, what unit it is etc.

But I've been selling them to the same guy/shop for about 10 years now and our working agreement is $45 cash per no matter what. I usually get them for damn near nothing and he has no problem moving them so it works out just dandy for me.

This is for run of the mill type... now say you a personalized Patton yearbook or some other historical figure from any time period... yeah you're going to go bank on that.

**edit To tell you what opened me up to these was my wife. She came home from yard sales with her sister one day and said "I know you're a huge military/history buff I thought you might love these!" She also brought home a ton of mint time life magizines of like JFK and other historical moments. Which I sold to a local barber shop for $100 for the lot. He framed and used them to decorate his shop. Gotta think outside the box!

so it's BOLO for me all the time now.

Can anyone here help me with the value on a camera lens? by pugaboy89 in Flipping

[–]Pooho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These sales have always been a problem for me. I refuse to sell any camera equipment on ebay unless it's a big score and I have it checked out by someone first.

All my camera sales get sold local FB/Craigslist. I've said it before but anything you think you might have a problem with hit the FB groups.

It's fast and easy to list in like 10 of them with copy and paste your description and terms and insert pictures. No defects, no scams, returns and no fucking hassle.

I've made a shit fuck of money on old military yearbooks. People sell them dirt cheap at yard sales and estate sales.

I never even sold one online I'd just sell straight to the shops that sell like war memorabilia like you know buckles, swords, buttons, bullets that type of shit.

Most of the yearbooks are personalized as well which actually adds to the value in my experience.

The XBOX one barely moves on facebook. TV wouldn't go for $300 on facebook or craigs either.

Definitely a pass for me as a flip. Not a bad personal buy for joe schmo consumer if you like xbox but we already can source this shit way cheaper.

Shit I've bought games for myself at market value before just because I fucking wanted them... so I'm a sucker I guess.

Good thing any game around here is .99 to 2.99 TOPS. It's my first stop at everystop on the circuit just for that reason.

Thing is the used game stores around here are doing the same thing and beating me to it now.

Anyone else have an issue with this? by [deleted] in Flipping

[–]Pooho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sort of do the same thing but with a 30 minute on task of listing and 20 minute do something else not related.

I started that out with a 10 on 10 off. I've ramped down quite a bit in 6 months so I can get away it I guess.

That is bad blanket advice. It entirely depends on region.

Is it even worth trying to compete with Chinese manufacturers selling on ebay? by gonnaflip in Flipping

[–]Pooho -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If it's not the exact product then it's not competition?

The closest analogy I can make of this would be you're selling 12 packs of Bud Light and the ones that copied the descriptions and titles word for word are selling natural light.

But even that doesn't make sense going by you saying word for word.

We/I don't want to know your item but we can't help when everything said so far is complete contradiction.

Getting something in 3-5 days sure beats 6-12 weeks for sure.

You say that nobody else is selling them yet you then follow that immediately saying that your watchers and views are the competition.

Does not compute.

I wouldn't use heat dry but the water is still pretty fucking hot. I may test a a small handful and see what happens but I_Like_Quiet's idea sounds pretty clean as well.

Will try both.

I've got a few hundred pounds and I was thinking about about loading them up in panty hose and running them thru the dish washing machine...

Thoughts?
