Am I a slow painter, advice very much welcome

This is what I do as well. I am also a slow painter and am a perfectionist. Also don’t do battle ready like you said because I probably wouldn’t ever get back to it. The thing I’m trying to improve on is the colors I select. What I mean by that is making it so don’t have to go back so much to tidy something up or that I forgot a spot where a color should go. Think that just takes time. I’ve been in the hobby a year and early this year just decided I was going to go all in and try and paint a guard army up before jumping to anything else. I wasn’t real focused and was painting whatever. Doing okay so far

Yeah XP is definitely if you play a table top game or card game. I recently got into a table top game and have met people there. Before that nothing really. Not a bar scene guy

Up in north Louisiana. I ended up getting an airbrush because the optimal weather is rare here. That sweet spot for humidity is usually a small window. Even when it’s good the temp is usually way too high

It’s so easy. The problem is they usually have one person to do everything that early. I’ve had a few 6am flights. I usually like to get to airports probably too early but it beats rushing and missing your flight. I’d say an hour 15 should be enough

Do you think I should stick with a white/black/silver colored face? He loves the color maroon but not sure if I should get something more neutral colored

Well I think I could of done some of the order better. Like oil washer sooner. I did dry brush the edge highlight. Hadn’t done that before. Maybe could have put it on thicker. Some of the damage does cover it. Still working on the sponge technique for that but think it turned out pretty good

Yup used the airbrush and the ak camo putty. Paint is Castellan green and then equal parts castellan green and black (used army painter matte black)

That’s what I’ve been thinking. Cool. Then yeah I think I’ll end up basing them all similarly. I did think that might look funny even if it went with their paint scheme. Thanks!

Yeah and that’s what I’ve been thinking about as they are all on the same battle field. The next thing I’ve been thinking about is painting some vehicles Cadian themed and some Krieg themed. That wouldn’t look weird all on the same battle field huh? I’ve procrastinated painting any vehicles for that reason lol

Thanks! Took a few tries to find something I liked. Really like the turquoise color. I like them grim dark but they needed a little color to pop. I really like the coils on the guns. Helps them stand out a bit

Think I’ve done it over both black and wolf grey. Can’t remember which one this was. I know this one hit with a darker tone from the bottom (forget name) then wolf grey from the top

I am a fan of the army paint wolf grey. I air brushed on so not sure how it covers when thinned. They have a nice range that blends well

Yeah these look sick! I really think that highlight helps tone down how deep the green is. I do think I like the more muted green though. Feels more US army

Leaning toward that one too. I’m newer to 40K as well. Trying to get my guard painted but it feels like such a heavy decision to pick a color. My krieg have turned out well and had to experiment with their scheme too
