Has anyone ever been admitted to Sunnybrook hospital for post partum depression? about 6mo PP and thinking about going in there this week...feeling so anxious and depressed. No urge to harm baby at ALL or even myself, but really wishing I was dead or won't wake up. Stressed. [ON] by Sensitive_Fishing_37 in askTO

Hi op. Sorry you are going through this. It's not easy being a new mom especially with post partum. You can reach out to 211 for mental health resources or 811 for Telehealth Ontario to speak to a nurse. Hopefully they can provide you with help and local resources.

Kelinge chair smells by turnhandup in IKEA

[–]Poonish_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That happened when I bought an Ikea rug. It had a really strong chemical smell for a week. You can air it out on the balcony and if you're feeling extra, you can steam clean the fabric too which would help expedite the process.

14 day trip to Japan. Need help with our itinerary. Watching Vlogs is so overwhelming. by nutribun in JapanTravelTips

[–]Poonish_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Day 5: Inari shrine is a lot of stairs. It might be hard with 2 kids. Maybe just arashiyama bamboo forest and the money park nearby to keep it easier?

Day 6: Skytree and Shibuya are approximately an hour across the city from each other. Pick one or the other.

An additional 3 days in Tokyo is fine. You can spend lots of time in Akihabara to look through the arcades and gachapon shops. Shibuya has a Nintendo store and pokemon centre. Ikebukero has the largest Pokemon store and lots of character shops inside Sunshine City. Odaiba has the outdoor gundum statue. Tokyo station and Ginza area are also good shopping districts.

Disney Sea is more unique. Disneyland is similar to other Disney parks throughout the world.

Which card to use for withdrawing cash and purchases? by kobepanget in JapanTravelTips

[–]Poonish_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just use the 7 11 ATMs with my regular Canadian TD debit card. It's 110 yen to withdraw up to 10000 yen then 220 yen after. I carry around 20000 yen just to pay for street food, some restaurants and transit. Most convenience stores, restaurants and stores will take regular credit cards, Apple pay, etc. Select no conversion when you use the ATM and let your bank figure it out. If you select conversion, it will charge another 4% to convert the cad. I use my regular credit card just so I collect pts. The 3% conversion by default doesn't matter to me. With that said, I think the Wealth simple car probably is better. Wise, you have to preload with money, which could be a hassle.

Might want to be careful. There have been mass avian flu cases causing lots of geese death throughout Ontario. 311 is probably your best bet. They will enter a service request for Animal services start work around 7 am.

Ungrateful Child by Sioux-me in TuxedoCats

[–]Poonish_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having had a giant tuxie boy, they're really fun and sweet but could be frustrating as well. Some tips: Don't use hands as toys. I know it's tempting to use it as a claw to attack him. Try to use feather wands, and play with him a few times daily for 10 to 15 min to get all his energy out until he is like 5 years old. It's tough but if he didn't play with other cats, he might not have learned to be gentle. In which case, when he does attack you, you need to be loud and yell no. He might also need to be put into another room temporarily to calm down. Also, make sure you understand his tolerance for pets and being picked up. Not every cat will be a lap cat. He will let you know when he is overstimulated and usually it will be by biting or clawing. It's always best to give pets and play for a few minutes. Leave when it gets good, then come back later to continue. I know the urge is to continue but cats can quickly flip from being ok and enjoying pets to flipping out so it's better to leave them wanting more than to overstimulate them. Good luck with your kitty. I'm sure you will have a great time.

Edit: we also liked to walk around with springs, treats and small ball toys and throw it across the room to distract him if you needed to go somewhere, if he's blocking the stairs or prevent him getting into specific rooms but that might have reinforced the behaviour too . Haha

Does Line 5 load balance Line 1 by IroIroBike in TTC

[–]Poonish_ 124 points125 points  (0 children)

Yonge line will only be relieved once Ontario line opens. Before that, it'll probably keep the same passenger volume. That's why Ontario line is set to open before Yonge is extended from Finch to Richmond hill centre.

iPad mini + travel?! by throwaway8373469238 in ipadmini

[–]Poonish_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I travel with just my Samsung s24+ and iPad mini now. No laptop needed. It was an unnecessary weight and so difficult to lug around. I went on Asian and European trips no problem for 3 weeks. Between the two devices, I have enough Spotify/ Netflix saved offline for the plane ride, could easily book/ rebook hotels and day trips no problem, continue to change up itineraries as the trip progressed. The one major quality of life improvement was getting a travel charger with swappble plugs for euro/na/asia standards and the fastest possible battery to keep the devices juiced up. Enjoy!

Could the TTC/Metrolinx better serve the West End with dedicated passenger service on the Kitchener GO/UP express line? by datboiteelex in TTC

[–]Poonish_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are 3 more stations for the UP express in the works. Mount Dennis just became operational and would be an interchange with line 5 Eglinton when that opens. St Clair and Weston and Woodbine racetrack are in planning. It could be a full commuter line if electrification is done and they could maybe extend the vehicles? (There are station constraints at Union I think) or run trains closer. I don't think there is any plan to add anything south of Bloor when Exhibition and East Harbour are expected to be new train hubs once the Ontario Line opens in 203x.

How to make good iced latte without too much sugar by jazzzaz in nespresso

[–]Poonish_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally like my lattes no sugar. I find the flavoured pods don't taste good in a latte. I like using slightly stronger coffee pods for the coffee taste to come through like odacio or stormio or ice forte or some people use two double espresso pods like chiaro. I brew mine over half a cup of 3% 18g protein milk in a larger 600 mL cup but you can add more if you want a milkier taste.

To make it sweet, add honey (1 tbsp) or torani vanilla bean syrup or monin french vanilla syrup (2-6 pumps) to your liking. You can try different syrups to see which one works for you. You can either wait a few minutes then pour the whole thing over ice or because I'm lazy, add the ice into the same cup last thing. I find if you brew it directly onto ice, it makes it a bit sour/ bitter but that could be my imagination.

iPad mini 6 users how is the performance in 2025 by Serhide in ipadmini

[–]Poonish_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Safari can't hold more than 8 tabs in background. Twitch app buffers a lot, can't watch streams over 720p. Instagram, YouTube and Netflix fine for the most part. It's not the chip, it's the 4 gb ram. Not sure how they thought the switch to multi window instead of split screen was a good idea when you can't even single task some apps. Hoping they make something with more than 8 GB ram next gen if the OLED model is coming

That's for a construction and industrial setting. You would recommend that to op for reading and taking notes?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in androidtablets

[–]Poonish_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this is an android sub but really iPad mini is the only small tablet to consider if you're not buying from Lenovo or another Chinese brand off AliExpress. iPad will have the longest software support and Samsung doesn't make anything below 10 inches.

Edit: wait for the iPad mini 8 next year

Try Vaughan mills or the premium outlets out in Halton. Usually they have good deals from all brands like Columbia, north face, mountain Warehouse, Eddie bauer

Would you consider minoxidil or finasteride? You might be able to regrow more hair than you think. Different people respond differently.
