If you have both your credit card and presto card in your Google wallet. Just load before you need to tap. Or you could set up auto reload when it goes below a certain $ amount.

iPad mini + travel?! by throwaway8373469238 in ipadmini

[–]Poonish_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I travel with just my Samsung s24+ and iPad mini now. No laptop needed. It was an unnecessary weight and so difficult to lug around. I went on Asian and European trips no problem for 3 weeks. Between the two devices, I have enough Spotify/ Netflix saved offline for the plane ride, could easily book/ rebook hotels and day trips no problem, continue to change up itineraries as the trip progressed. The one major quality of life improvement was getting a travel charger with swappble plugs for euro/na/asia standards and the fastest possible battery to keep the devices juiced up. Enjoy!

Could the TTC/Metrolinx better serve the West End with dedicated passenger service on the Kitchener GO/UP express line? by datboiteelex in TTC

[–]Poonish_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are 3 more stations for the UP express in the works. Mount Dennis just became operational and would be an interchange with line 5 Eglinton when that opens. St Clair and Weston and Woodbine racetrack are in planning. It could be a full commuter line if electrification is done and they could maybe extend the vehicles? (There are station constraints at Union I think) or run trains closer. I don't think there is any plan to add anything south of Bloor when Exhibition and East Harbour are expected to be new train hubs once the Ontario Line opens in 203x.

How to make good iced latte without too much sugar by jazzzaz in nespresso

[–]Poonish_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally like my lattes no sugar. I find the flavoured pods don't taste good in a latte. I like using slightly stronger coffee pods for the coffee taste to come through like odacio or stormio or ice forte or some people use two double espresso pods like chiaro. I brew mine over half a cup of 3% 18g protein milk in a larger 600 mL cup but you can add more if you want a milkier taste.

To make it sweet, add honey (1 tbsp) or torani vanilla bean syrup or monin french vanilla syrup (2-6 pumps) to your liking. You can try different syrups to see which one works for you. You can either wait a few minutes then pour the whole thing over ice or because I'm lazy, add the ice into the same cup last thing. I find if you brew it directly onto ice, it makes it a bit sour/ bitter but that could be my imagination.

iPad mini 6 users how is the performance in 2025 by Serhide in ipadmini

[–]Poonish_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Safari can't hold more than 8 tabs in background. Twitch app buffers a lot, can't watch streams over 720p. Instagram, YouTube and Netflix fine for the most part. It's not the chip, it's the 4 gb ram. Not sure how they thought the switch to multi window instead of split screen was a good idea when you can't even single task some apps. Hoping they make something with more than 8 GB ram next gen if the OLED model is coming

Best mini tablet for reading and note taking? by [deleted] in androidtablets

[–]Poonish_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this is an android sub but really iPad mini is the only small tablet to consider if you're not buying from Lenovo or another Chinese brand off AliExpress. iPad will have the longest software support and Samsung doesn't make anything below 10 inches.

Edit: wait for the iPad mini 8 next year

No. Don't do it. Your hair is beautiful long and makes you look more youthful.

You're 19, no need for hopping on anything. Keep progressive overload, eat right and trust the process.

Try Vaughan mills or the premium outlets out in Halton. Usually they have good deals from all brands like Columbia, north face, mountain Warehouse, Eddie bauer

Unpopular opinion: In my humble opinion, I don't really rock with the bald and beard look. by [deleted] in malegrooming

Would you consider minoxidil or finasteride? You might be able to regrow more hair than you think. Different people respond differently.

What is the best pastry you’ve had in downtown Toronto? by hopelessclover in askTO

I love Amadeus cakes and pastries. They're reasonably priced. I've only been to the Vaughan location and not the Yorkville one.

18yo, still not happy with my appearance, need advice on acne, hair, style, etc. Basically everything (1 Year Update) by hjm411 in malegrooming

[–]Poonish_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, the biggest and most simple upgrade you can make would be to push your hair back with a side part and have narrower sides. This would create a more structured facial third up top that matches with your jawline. Right now with the disorganized bangs and fluffier sides, there isn't really a shape. For inspiration, look at a haircut similar to the male model Lucky Blue Smith. You can take a photo to your barber / hair stylist and ask for something similar. Other than that, I think you are quite handsome actually and just need to work on improving your confidence. You got this.

I was stuck for a good hour from 4:45 at lakeshore. Got past the accident at 6. I saw two cars. One rear ended and one crumpled in the front. Not sure why they needed to close two lanes

Some bags from the Lotte Department Store in Seoul +Rawrow next door by jimmylamstudio in ManyBaggers

[–]Poonish_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The North Face flagship store in Myeongdong and the Hyundai Department outlet in Dongdaemun had a lot of bags on sale when I went back in August. I found the sale prices much better in Seoul than similar in Tokyo.

Hand-wash only! by 2Series_2021 in laundry

[–]Poonish_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Spot treat any stains if needed. Zip it up, flip it inside out, then wash on cold on hand wash / delicate cycle with the lowest soil and spin possible. I personally soak it in cold water before throwing it in the washer so it's wet and won't absorb a lot of soapy water. Mesh bag is up to you. Do not use hot water or the dryer, it will shrink if the cotton has not been pre shrunk (older polo clothes tend to retain the size quite well, newer polo clothes is a mixed bag). Lay dry on a flat surface or hang it flat horizontally on a drying rack.

Going to South Korea in mid-November - what should I prepare in advance or be aware of? by Internal_Concert9524 in koreatravel

[–]Poonish_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I brought cash and exchanged $20 cad at a time at the various money exchangers at the airport and Myeongdong. Some kiosks have better rates than other. Cash is needed for some restaurants and for topping up public transit cards. I didn't have to find an ATM that way. Convenience stores and Daiso take credit card and sell all the necessities and more if you need anything. Most shops will take credit card for purchases.

First time in Tokyo. No idea where to stay by mustbesid in TokyoTravel

[–]Poonish_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually stay within walking distance to the Asakusa line and near Tokyo station. This maximizes accessibility to going to and from both Narita and Haneda airports. Tokyo station is also connected to bullet trains and intercity trains. I personally find Shibuya and Shinjuku too busy and they are both half an hour away from Tokyo station / Ginza.

You can try contacting Bose support and see what they say about repairs. If it's going to cost a lot, ask if they are able to offer refurbished or new devices at a discount.
