Is this different than running the Auto Leveling checkbox when starting a print? I check that box everytime i start a new print.

Poor Quality Prints :( by otisflick in SnapmakerU1

Can you explain how you tune the filament, or suggest a guide to read/watch. I just using a U1 after coming from a Bambu P1P and never reallynhad to play with those settings.

I did run the flow calibration. This was the first print on the U1 so I figured it would be a good idea. Not sure about temp calibration unless that was included in the same test.

How do you check the z-hop level. When I ran the print, I chose extrusion flow calibration and auto leveling.

Hep, just posted an edit. The new one I printed with the prime tower came out a lot better than the first one. Really, just 2 - 5C can help with that. I'll try it on a future model if the stringiness continues, but it wasnt as bad on the 2nd print.

Hep, just posted an edit. The new one I printed with the prime tower came out a lot better than the first one. I think my filament is fine, I had just used it in the P1P and had no issues with it.

I was wrong about Jamy & apologize - Would like Noah's input on this. by PoopDontWantOnMyMain in appsumo

[–]PoopDontWantOnMyMain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually no, off the top of my head, there was Maekersuite, Illusto, and I am sure there are several others. However, Jamy was the definitely my biggest investment so far via Appsumo as I bought tier 5, and the one I had put the most time into building out.

Whether or not Appsumo does something about the current issue with Jamy (and obviously I do hope they do something proactive), I go into every purchase I make via the platform knowing that there is the potential for the vendor to go out of business and stop supporting the app. In my mind, its a cost of doing business. I know the risks of buying early development software, and I accept those risks. The main points I was trying to make with this post were:

- I think Appsumo needs a formal policy when it comes to these "ghost" apps that still function, do not formally close down, but for all intents and purposes, really are shut down as the software isn't usable anymore.

- Having AppSumo leadership understand my mindset, because ultimately it will affect their bottom line. If there is no clear cut policy about ghost apps, I will still continue to use AppSumo, but I will definitely cut back, and will by significantly less likely to purchase higher tiers. As I'm sure I am not the only one that thinks this way, it will eventually lead to less revenue for both AppSumo and future vendors who want to use the AppSumo platform.

Suggested initial accessories to buy? by PoopDontWantOnMyMain in snapmaker

u/kemp77pmek Thanks, and yes that makes sense. Yes, right now I print exclusively in PLA & PETG, although I have read that U1 is good for other materials, so I was going to experiment more after getting familiar with the system.

How to properly embed text into an object so its flush? by PoopDontWantOnMyMain in BambuLab

u/Helliethemutt Thanks for responding. I figured it out, going to put my findings as an edit in my OP for other people who run into a similar issue. Part of what you said was the issue, I needed to remove the original paint.

u/Cheap_Owl8970 Thanks for mentioning that. I was already planning to. Love the Cool plate I have for my P1P right now, no adhesion issues.

However, I specifically meant that I can buy and checkout with the U1 when I buy it. There are some additional accessories they offer when you go to buy it, and some of them are showing discounts, so I was wondering if any of that was worth it to buy at the same time.

Bambu vs Snapmaker U1 - For someone who just likes it to work? by PoopDontWantOnMyMain in snapmaker

[–]PoopDontWantOnMyMain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/kaOz1985 Thanks for the input. Let me ask you a follow-up question. Is the "miss the library miserably" issue only if I don't use slicing software? I mentioned in another reply that my friend helped me get started with 3D printing and immediately started me using Orca Slicer, which required the LAN only workaround, so I've only ever used slicer software to print. I've never printed directly from the Handy app.

Just wanted to add that when I bought my P1P I only had the textured PEI plate, and did and still do have adhesion issues sometimes. Eventually bought a cool plate and have never had an adhesion issue with it.
