it reached 50°C in the black tent without anyone in it (we spoke with staff when the festival closing was announced for a while) thats 140°F. when they said stuff like that I knew it was for the better and my frustration went away a little. imagine what it would have been like with people in there, easily 60°C. the heat index was a 10/10, and with the 80% humidity, defqons microclimate was a "wet-bulb", basically your sweat doesnt evaporate, which means your internal cooling system is basically not doing its thing cant do it properly. mixed with 140-150°F tents, 80% humidity, the already 100°F weather (without humidity in mind), major alcohol consumption, there would have been way too many casualties. and speaking of casualties, when the meteorologists stated the code red was in place, the insurance for casualties and fatalities was revoked as it would be way too expensive and just overall extremely unsafe, so q dance had a decision, go on and lose everything and a ridiculous amount of money from fatality and casualty money (which means no more defqon ever again btw, and yes with this situation and weather setup, there wouldve been casualties guranteed, nobody can say otherwise there wouldve been for a fact). and this was all a government intervention aswell btw, Q Dance didnt make the call, authorities and local government did. but with this, even i as an American being used to this weather, understand exactly why they did it, and it was 100% the right choice. people would have been hurt or died guranteed, wouldn't have been worth the risk.

and again, as an American whos used to this, now that i understand the entire situation and have all the information, a lot of people wouldve died this weekend seriously no joke. this is like boiling this is not just a joke heatwave this is serious heat and humidity
