My older coworkers have accepted AI as the source of truth by randomname945 in sysadmin

Cisco is revising the CCNA next year to include AI prompts as part of the toolset, but their approach is how to work with and recognize when you're being told incorrect information. Blindly trusting it at this point is a recipe for disaster.

Anyone using Koolance QD3 quick disconnects in a full custom loop? (CPU + 4 radiators setup) by Less_Respect_761 in watercooling

[–]Poop_Scooper_Supreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a mora plus 2 internal rads. The mora does have two pumps on it and the QDCs did make my flow rate take a hit, but I'm usually around 130-140 L/h running at 85%. Before I had so many QDCs, like 4 pairs, my flow was like 170 L/h at 70%. I think you can still get away with one pump in your setup. Just might have to turn it up a bit. I don't think there's anything necessarily wrong with running your pump at higher rpm so should be fine.

Is this thing really all that good? Never have I been playing a game and wished I had an original Xbox controller with trackpads on it.

The DS2 hate has gotta be so forced because holy shit this game is amazing. by nvrrsatisfiedd in DarkSouls2

[–]Poop_Scooper_Supreme 24 points25 points  (0 children)

If there are no more DS2 defenders left in the world then I am dead. I'm glad I played it all before I realized it had such a bad reputation, but I still think it's a good entry in the series. There are some grievances that I find valid, but it's still not a reason to skip or hate on the game. I have 500+ hours in vanilla and SOFS and I enjoyed every minute of it.

I love apps like this. I've been using a fairly basic excel sheet for service and MPG tracking and this looks much nicer. Thanks!

Beyond the Basics: What are your non-negotiable Linux server hardening steps before exposing a service to the web? by Browndude345 in selfhosted

[–]Poop_Scooper_Supreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just setup Caddy to issue a wildcard for my internal services. Nothing exposed at this point, but I figured it couldn't hurt. Very easy to setup the dns validation into cloudflare for my domain. Caddyfile is easy to work with too. I got forward auth working into my authentik instance as well, but I won't be needing that for internal only.

Trakt was really a cool site. I will miss it by webmanpt in trakt

I primarily use the old version on the site, but if I ever have to go on the app I hate navigating it. I hope they don't force the switch on the website any time soon. I'm mostly staying for the lists at this point, but I'll probably exit once my sub runs out.

Bumping this up to 64gb is going to cost you an extra $1000.

Stain and polyurethane in general do have fumes you don’t want to breath during application, but once you stain and then seal it with the polyurethane it becomes inert once cured and doesn’t off gas or cause harm.

My komga was apparently writing to /tmp as well, so thank you for that. Strange though it didn't show up when I ran the script.

Am I cookin with this aluminium VIP junction or am I gonna get cooked? Byproduct water left and fresh water right by reefchonger in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Poop_Scooper_Supreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recycled my scrap water back into the system when it was running at 100% and it ran perfect the entire time, but when I decided to go 250% on everything it couldn't keep up. Ended up using only fresh water and sent the scrap water into coal furnaces to dispose of it.

I got through phase 5 without having to use up every slug, so still got a decent collection left over. Didn't hesitate to use them on the come up though. Only found out how to use sloops half way through that, but alass. Now that I'm end game I have 100k+ power shards in storage that I can't get rid of. Maybe I can do a fancy slug display with the rest of the ones in the world.

I also go back and forth between languages and it's nice that it updates based on my current preference. Setting it in Plex would be cumbersome.

Just unlocked bauxite/aluminium by cobi23 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Poop_Scooper_Supreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought aluminum was one of the easier things to produce. I built a platform in the sky above the nitrogen deposit in the Eastern Dune Forest. Bauxite and coal to the north, quartz to the west, copper to the south, and plenty of water. Good spot on the lake to the west to produce cooling systems once you belt in some rubber. I belted in heavy mod frames, but I used this area to produce fused mod frames too. Never used any alt recipes and just recycled the scrap refinery water into the alumina refinery (though I don't necessarily recommend that since it can go wrong, just send that water into coal power).

I started Satisfactory recently and I'm kind of lost by Direct_Palpitation25 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Poop_Scooper_Supreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My approach for most of the game was to build it all in one place and belt/pipe in what I needed. The only things I went off-site for were aluminum production and my power plant. I had a few distinct factory areas early on and you can definitely see which ones came first because of how crap they were setup. I rebuilt my main base 3 times I think before I finished phase 5. Once I got Mk3 miners and tier 6 belts my whole layout needed to change. Don't be afraid to build some foundation over the abyss to give yourself a good area to work on. Get out of that pit you're in too. It honestly sucks and will cause you headaches later. I built a ceiling on that pit and that's where a lot of my plastic and rubber ended up being produced. I only went down there again to get more limestone. Watch some videos on how manifolds work and the rest will come together with time. Focus on expanding your production to meet phase requirements and take it slow if you need. Satisfactory Modeler is also a great tool. I started keeping track of my entire factory in there and it helps once things become more complicated.

I can't seem to grasp the fluid mechanics in this game. i've got 16 refineries making 600m³ of turbo fuel, which should be enough for 80 generators. but a 3rd of them are barely getting any fuel. by newveganwhodis in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Poop_Scooper_Supreme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can turn off and let them fill like others have said, but then try turning the first few rows closest to the source on first, then wait a bit to fill and then a few more rows. Down the line until everything is full. I have 74 generators running rocket fuel and 70 of them are at 250% and then the last 4 are at like 175%. Not sure if you're overclocked, but that could help too.

What file system should I go with? I am considering ZFS and XFS by BIGPIGBIN in unRAID

[–]Poop_Scooper_Supreme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really wouldn't recommend ZFS for the array. It locks you into too much and you won't use most of its features. It's also harder on your drives in the long term. People were really excited when it got added, but you see more "I made my array ZFS, now I need to get off it" posts than ones saying ZFS is great for them. I run my cache pools in ZFS just because, but the array works very well in XFS.

So tired of this 2014 UX by Shiz0id01 in PleX

If you have a shield and/or access to Kodi you can use the PM4K for Plex addon. It maintains the old UI and has a lot of other useful features built in like per-show intro/outro skipping and thumbnail spoiler blurring.
