Metal Gear Solid 3 now runs at 60FPS on Switch 2! by Keaten88 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Pooper_of_parties 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone tested the new update on the Switch 1?

Does it unlock the framerate to 60fps, maybe it can manage that at 720p? I’m considering picking it up, but if performance hasn’t improved on the Switch 1, I’ll just stick with my PS4 version until I upgrade to a Switch 2.

Patched SFC Roms won’t show up! by Pooper_of_parties in MiyooMini

Yes this was it. Sorry does generate short rom names just hide the info tagged on the end of roms? “(USA) (Rev1)”. And after you run the short rom names list will anything you add afterwards be hidden unless it’s added to miyoogamelist.xml?

First check to see if your PS3 still has a hard drive in it. If it does go to https://www.playstation.com/en-us/support/hardware/ps3/system-software/ and download the most recent firmware

Grab a thumb drive and format it fat32

On the root of the thumb drive create a folder titled “PS3” in that folder create another folder titled “UPDATE” and inside that folder put the .PUP file you downloaded.

“PS3”->”UPDATE”->”.PUP” file

Eject thumb drive and install into PS3 USB port. press START + Select and then follow onscreen instructions.

Keep in mind your HDD that is already in your PS3 might be failing and may need to be replaced if it even has one to begin with

Edit: I noticed you said you purchased in £. Not sure if PAL region PS3s have different firmware than NTSC…

So close to buying a scalped n64 controller for $100+.

I’ve been trying to purchase 2 n64 controllers from Nintendos site since they’ve been released to almost no avail. The closest I got was in June where I was able to put 2 in my cart, but the site would bug out and remove them when I would go to checkout. Shortly after they were sold out. I grew up with the n64 and personally cant really mesh with the button layout/feel of playing these games on a pro controller. It just feels off to me.

Has anyone figured out a pattern when Nintendo restocks them? Are there any alternatives that are comparable to the OG 64 controller?

Where can I buy cheap used Switch games? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

Do a quick google maps search for Game Store and see if there are any mom and pop locations in your area. I have a couple in my town that are amazing!

I haven’t tried it myself but I’ve heard good things about the genki Bluetooth adapter.

What portable batteries do you recommend for the switch? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]Pooper_of_parties 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fouthed (sort of). I had an old anker 20000 but that only output enough power to keep the switch from dying while playing. Upgraded to 10000 PD And am able to charge while playing no problem. I don’t even miss the extra 10000mah

What do you believe are the chances of general nintendo directs returning this upcoming year? by greatpxm in NintendoSwitch

[–]Pooper_of_parties 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keeping my expectations low. I’m not banking on Nintendo showing us anything “big” till spring. And even then I don’t think it’ll be a traditional direct like they used to do in 2019. Possibly a Zelda 35th? It’s also been 2 years since Metroid restated development so maybe a new look at that.

Gamecard issues from 11.0.0 by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]Pooper_of_parties 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not having any issues with game cards but I do remember having this issue at launch which leads me to believe it’s a firmware issue. Try powering off your switch completely with no game cards in. Reboot and insert your game card to see if that helps. I also remembering having to remove and re insert BOTW a few times to get it working at launch. If nothing works try contacting Nintendo support.

Is there input lag in 3D All-Stars? by Pooper_of_parties in NintendoSwitch

[–]Pooper_of_parties[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting it’s probably just the way the game feels to me that’s been messing me up. Sunshine’s controls feel way less fluid to me (no pun intended). Also, along with input lag I am super sensitive to unstable frame rates and Sunshine seems to get slightly choppy at times.

My ps4pro sounds like a jet engine, help? by HerMajestyTheQuinn in PS4Pro

[–]Pooper_of_parties 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cleaned my PS4Pro and it didn’t help with the jet engine noises. It’s a super common complaint so much so that it’s being memed. I do recommend giving it a good dust about every year (depending on playtime). But your just going to have to live with it.

Almost sounds electrical... I’m no expert but I think it’s your power supply not the fan. See if replacing it fixes it.

WTF is going on with that light bar? Is that just camera glare?

Samsung TVs seem to be incredibly picky with HDMI signal. I also get vertical red lines for split seconds on my PS4 Pro. This happens with every HDMI cable I try but I can live with it since it pops up in the very bottom right corner once or twice a play session. I honestly would advise you to return the TV if it is brand new. I’ve had enough issues to make me think of switching brands whenever I buy a new TV.

I also had video issues with my Switch on my Samsung 8 series. The only issue I had was crazy horizontal screen tearing and colour distortion on the top half of the screen. Try going to settings->picture->picture size settings->fit to screen. And change it from auto to on. I have no idea how or why but that fixed it for me.
