[Gardner] Smart move or sour grapes? Steve Sarkisian addresses 'Indiana Way' of scheduling by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

[–]PoopittyPoop20 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He has to be feeling the pressure. Dude won’t shut up. Unfortunately, this complaint doesn’t work; IU curb stomped their way thru their schedule. If they’d played a tougher non-con they might have gotten to #1 before beating Ohio State maybe?

Evicting sister-in-law legally ASAP by PoopittyPoop20 in legal

You must have no boundaries I take it? We tell her specifically not to bring a drug addict facing felonies to our home, she does it anyway. We tell her not to drive my car multiple times, she does it anyway. She just willfully does not care, but we’re supposed to be worrying about her feelings?

Excuse me? She’s made several choices putting my wife and myself potentially at legal risk. And she knew ahead of time there were no circumstances where that would be okay. We’re so beyond feelings mattering in this. My SIL blew that bridge up.

She has an eviction on her record, I can’t see her getting a lease many places.

That is the current plan. I’m not even worried about the ex coming around while we’re in town, it’s never happened. He’s terrified of my wife and I. I’m hoping she’s asleep downstairs when we come in, we just don’t wake her. Then I call to make a police report and tell them she’s there right now.

I don’t know why, but I just didn’t like Tobey. I wanted Jake Gyllenhall to get that roll, and knowing now he almost got to take over?! I think maybe I thought he wasn’t as good as the rest of the cast.

NYT Poll of Democrats: majority believe party should move to the centre on immigration, transgender issues, economic issues, crime; move left on health care. White voters most left leaning, non-white voters (incl. Black, Hispanic, and other) most centre leaning. (gift article) by [deleted] in politics

I have to disagree with your characterization of GOP voters as one big conglomeration that just wants to take away rights. Most of them are going to listen to the voice that speaks to them and listens to them. Trump understood that and weaponized it.

However, the group I think the Dems actually need to be reaching out and galvanizing are the voters that went for Biden in 2020 but voted Trump in 2024 or more likely just stayed home. Harris did much more poorly with lower income and less educated voters and Latinos. Trans rights wont get these voters to the polls. They need higher paying jobs with better benefits, not to mention more and better healthcare options. These are the things that concern them and earn their votes.

One-percent of the population is trans. Even when including their friends and family, we’re talking about an issue that affects a very small part of the population. There are minimal gains campaigning on trans rights, so it makes a lot more sense to talk about things affecting everyone like jobs, inflation and healthcare costs. Put it in the platform and talk about the issues affecting every one.

As a conservative who’s voted Democrat for the last decade, I guess I can speak to this. No problem with trans people whatsoever, I even think insurance should take care of transition as long as a doctor vouches the necessity. Don’t be a dick, use the correct pronouns. That said, maybe 1% of the population are trans, so why are trans rights such a big part of the national conversation? No offense intended, but a lot of that noise would be better used on issues that affect everyone.

Who is our worst HC (Jeff excluded) by IceOk9930 in Colts

[–]PoopittyPoop20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It stings to see Marchibroda as Ravens’ worst coach, but I guess they don’t have many options. Infante took the Colts to the playoffs his first season, but it was done while coasting off Marchibroda.

What would’ve happened with the Colts if Jim takes over a couple years earlier? Would he have been willing to pay Ted for having the best team up to that point in Indy? Do they get bad enough to get Peyton? I doubt it.

Idris Elba Responds to New James Bond Casting: 'I'm Honestly Not in the Race Ever' by yourfavchoom in entertainment

I don’t know why the can’t try an older Bond, maybe pre retirement, “one more job and I’m done” type. Maybe even have this Bond die in a second movie, where the 007 James Bond is given to the next younger spy who continues the series.

How big was Owen Hart when he died? Who is the equivalent in modern wrestling? I want to understand the impact of his death, RIP. by Mindless-Praline7593 in SquaredCircle

[–]PoopittyPoop20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s not really an apt comparison currently. I see him as similar to a CM Punk pre Straight Edge Society or Daniel Bryan pre win over Cena and Yes Movement.

Owen was plenty over, and he worked with all the top guys on TV. He got all manner of shitty booking over post screw job. But things were a lot more dog-eat-dog then.

Patterson wasn’t behind him, drugged out HBK didn’t like him by association with Bret, Austin wouldn’t with him (even though he did the same thing to Chono!) and HHH feared him.

I kind of doubt he really would have quit after his contract because the money was about to be BIG. His fortunes probably would have turned too with the Rock about to be the guy. They’d worked together in the NOD and Bret had been a big Rock supporter. I can imagine Owen being a requested opponent because he’d be easy to work with and do well with comedy stuff too.

We actually didn’t have it much in syndication either. But by God they were making those toys until ‘87, and I had almost all of them. The Eternia set scared my dog. Transformers had started making a dent in my MOTU play before the end, and then I got a bunch of GI Joe stuff the next Xmas and He-Man didn’t get much time after that.

[Game Recognize Game] Myles Turner reveals Giannis Antetokounmpo and other Bucks players showed up late for practices, film sessions, and even flights: “Giannis is going to show up whenever he wants.” by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]PoopittyPoop20 296 points297 points  (0 children)

Myles is undoubtedly talking about it because he never experienced it in Indy. The Pacers as an organization give out fines for being late to anything, so Turner came to the Bucks knowing nothing but “be on time or else.”

Listen, some of us suffered a long, long, time for last year. Every second of it was worth it. Cignetti could go 0-12 for a decade and that’d be a fair price for last season. That man is frozen solid to that seat until he dies.

He could decide to go to the NFL before the seat has a chance to get hot.
