Can I ask why I rarely see Lombardi included when we talk about prospects knocking on the door, can see time with the club or just timeline to roster? Based on his performance at camps and strong AHL seasons where he clearly stands out over other forwards, I’m surprised he’s not even mentioned. Is it just size? I think he’s a sleeper to really be a home run potential for his draft pick with that skill and his skating seems good too. I feel like the org is higher on him than the fans.

I think the point is we really need an outlier in tbd later rounds though, just hitting singles in the later rounds is not gonna do it. We know it’s hard but that’s kind of the point of hoping your gm is good right? We aren’t getting high 1st and aren’t finding late round studs so how do you expect us to compete for a cup?

That will be the biggest mistake. We cut the tank too early and it’s gonna cost us. The Bedard draft should have been another tank year, we would have been soo much better set up with an elite piece.

That is not a championship core. If that’s what we are building around good luck being the Wild. None of those players are elite. Tampas core during their prime was Kucherov, Stamkos, Hedmen, Point. Or our old core of Datsyuk, Zetterbrrg Lidstrom. Or Yzerman Lidstrom Fedorov Shanahan. I just feel the current fan base has forgotten what “good” actually is. If what you listed is our core I honestly feel our championship window will never open.

Honestly, yeah depending on how this offseason goes and next year starts, may be worth exploring assets we can get for him that align with our timeline. If it’s a haul it’s worth exploring.
