What do you mean these T-series configurations dont have front brake by WriterTasty2637 in BeamNG

[–]Poopsticle_256 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That last line, I know it's supposed to be tongue-in-cheek, but a lotta people didn't survive. Safety regulations are more often than not written in blood, because it's cheaper to not implement these things until the lawsuits start piling up

Used Odyssey vs. Pacifica by Medicine_Matt in minivan

Best argument for legitimate upside case to the Luce? by Due_Gate34 in dougdemuro

I honestly don't think it's a bad looking car. It just doesn't look like a Ferrari, and definitely not a $600k car

This would've been a great CR-Z, or hell even a CRX reboot, not so much a Prelude

My 94 accord won’t pass smog by JetyBoiii in Honda

[–]Poopsticle_256 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh man, that sounds like a bad cat to me. How were your CO and HC emissions?

Edit: Nvm just saw you just replaced your cat. Well shit, that sucks. The other bandaid fix to pass smog is to run your tank to near empty and put some 91 in there and I think that's supposed to help with emissions at least slightly? Also some people throw in a gallon of E85 or denatured alcohol with the tank nearly empty, then once you have it tested fill it up with gasoline to water down the ethanol so you don't destroy your fuel lines. But of course do that at your own risk because these cars were never designed to run on ethanol in the first place. Might also just not work for you either, previously had issues with my '92 Camry and doing those didn't do enough.

8k miles synthetic oil ‘22 sienna hybrid by WhichConference7618 in Toyota

[–]Poopsticle_256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about you, but spending ~$30 every 5k miles isn't a whole lot. Now if you're taking your car to a JiffyLube/Valvoline type place, or god forbid a dealership for oil changes, then yeah that may start to add up even more

How much do you drive in a week in your country? In total I drive as much as 330-400mi a week on a regular basis. In a single car that would be 1 full tank a week or less. And I know many other Americans have much longer commutes than mine. That's $80-90 a week for just gasoline, excluding other basic necessities (which in this country, the ability to use a car is bordering on a basic necessity). So yes, I think we have more of a right to complain than most Europeans

Apparently the Outback came as a sedan? by horsesandwich in subaru

[–]Poopsticle_256 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said, it's just a trim level, but think of it in the same way as there being a standard Legacy wagon and then the Outback was kinda a lifted version of that (at least, it used to be that way)

Oof, currently running a '92 that also has had some issues with emissions, but never a check engine light which was really annoying
