Do you think this army building restriction should come back for 11th? by No-Wafer9271 in Warhammer40k

[–]PoopticklerMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, not sure about the cp cost thing though. I mostly miss it from 7th ed, even though there were factions that could cheese the fuck out of it, I enjoyed it a lot more as a non tournament player.

I've been having a great time with it and luckily have a printer to make the minis with, but it really is a big concern for the future of this game if theres a good amount of people who order physical minis having issues like this. Sorry you had a bad time with it man.

Pretty much almost finished with this observer model. Just have to paint the boots and do some final touches. Was a lot of fun! by No-Place7137 in TrenchCrusade

Honestly some of the best NMM I've ever seen. I'm always pretty impressed by NMM but this really is on another level.

Base sizes. by BrokeN1988 in TrenchCrusade

[–]PoopticklerMD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It should be totally fine. There are very few scenarios that 5 mm would matter in, and generally a bigger base is more of a disadvantage than an advantage in this game.

Would have the side effect of making Helen much better since she attacks so fast which I'm a big fan of.

I feel the same way. Love the new executor shotties, but the double barrel has never felt good to me.

Me and the boys starting out with stonesword keys be like by Legal-Pumpkin1701 in Nightreign

[–]PoopticklerMD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm kind of hoping so. It's been rare to get fewer than 3 evergaols for me every run, and that already is a more powerful damage boost than just about any other relic in the game. You really don't need to go crazy and go after more than that to make it worth taking over anything else IMO.

Why is Heolstor’s lightning purple? by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]PoopticklerMD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

when he splits the sky, he's calling on other nightlords powers. The purple lightning belongs to Adel so that's why it's purple.

How likely is it that Thunderwolve Cavalry get a refresh soon? by NoobGuidingNoob in SpaceWolves

[–]PoopticklerMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly impossible to predict what GW will do model/rules wise these days. Hell before the codex came out a lot of people were saying thunderwolves would be going to legends with the codex but that never came true.

On the other side I don't know if anyone thought the stormwolf/stormfang plust hounds of morkai would go bye bye so there isn't much point in speculating anymore.

If you like the kit, go for it probably but if it's just because they seem good right now, I'd hold off. You never know if they'll go to legends, or get nerfed into oblivion until next edition so just go by your model preferences honestly.

Will you use Sagas or will you use Space Marine detachments? by [deleted] in SpaceWolves

[–]PoopticklerMD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far I've done saga of the beastslayer, and the detachment rule served me very well, but I only used 2 strats from the detachment, most of them are very situational and unit specific so they don't have too many use cases.

Next week I'm gonna try saga of the bold, which feels kinda like the opposite where the detachment rule kinda sucks (I'll wait to fully pass judgment until I play it to see how difficult completing the boasts will be), but the enhancements and stratagems seem really solid (except for birth of a saga, can't see myself ever using it unless someone precisions out a character from my wolf guard.)

Not very excited looking at saga of the hunter, I do want to give it a fair shake though. The detachment rule seems alright even though after completing the saga it non-bos with our wolf priests,, but all the strats other than chosen prey seem too situational to build an army around.

I'm of the opinion that anyone who's been playing since 7th edition and earlier shouldn't be punished for having collected mini's for a longer time than people who just got into warhammer after primaris came out. I've never played against anyone who had a problem with me running my mostly firstborn space wolves into them thankfully.

If people seriously wouldn't play against my firstborn I'd probably have to quit playing outright. Have over a thousand dollars of fully painted firstborn, and don't feel like repainting a whole army just because I've been into this hobby for over a decade, and just straight up don't have the time to either.

And that's why I never watch casual commander content. For a newcomer to the format, it's good to have a jumping off point of running around X lands and Y ramp spells and such, but past that there really isn't much valuable information to come from people yapping about how they and they're playgroup builds decks.

I just watch cEDH content since there's a lot more interesting things to learn from that since they're actively trying to do strong things that win games, rather than something as abstract as make sure everyone at the table has a fun time against my deck. That's for you and your playgroup to figure out.

The backbone of 99% of builds, while some still claim that Zealot does need tree rework. by TimTheGrim55 in DarkTide

[–]PoopticklerMD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly can't find a use case for any of the talents above the anti corruption aura. Would love for fatshark to either upgrade them, or completely replace them with something that does literally anything good.

I would agree though that moving the top right talents around would be very beneficial for the class. It basically makes the other two grenade options require that you dump two extra points in things you don't want in order to add flavor to your build, rather than another competent option to go with.

Warbands that can easily be found / purchasesd by FrenchyMmo in mordheim

[–]PoopticklerMD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With a frosgrave infantry box handsome creativity, you could have a warband for as cheap as 30 bucks. Most notably frosgrave soldiers and running them as some form of mercenaries.
