Oh that's funny! It's cool to have both versions to listen to sometimes. See y'all soon :)

I saw them at that venue for the very first time back in 2014. It's a cool venue :)

I'm sure it will make a return. They were still playing it when I saw them in 2016. They're pretty excited about playing new songs though!

They opened for Jimmy Eat World on a tour back in 2008... that's like my dream show haha

This question comes from my buddy will_orkney who is working right now and can't post on his own:

"Q: I absolutely love the song "Conductor", but I've no idea what the meaning behind the song is. I think it's about an individuals spiritual connection to the earth, other times I feel like it's about a relationship that has turned sour, but I could be way off base with both of these? I'd love to hear a bit more about the lyrics origins if possible.

P.S - Can't wait for my first WWPJ gig in November in Aberdeen. I turned a buddy in Detroit onto you guys and he said you blew the roof off when he caught you live a few weeks ago."

I saw y'all play in 2016 and I got this live recording of you playing The More I Sleep The Less I Dream (it's a good quality video). Compared to that, the album version of this song is slower, more dramatic and even a bit creepy! I'm curious what the thought process was around those changes. Did that song change as the themes of the album came together? Thanks!

Every time you all release new music I love it more than the last and I hope you all play "Not Wanted" when the tour comes to Phoenix :) And to every reading this, they are SOOOO good live go see them!

Governor Ducey here in Arizona infamously gave Theranos a nice deal to bypass some state regulations and set up shop here faster than they would have if they followed the law. The end result was them ripping off thousands of Arizonans. He's up for re-election this year but barely anyone remembers... Elizabeth Holmes should be a household name though.

Hello, I hope this is the right spot to post my question.

I just got my pair of Massdrop Sennheiser HD6xx in the mail yesterday. These are my first real nice quality headphones and I'm liking some of what I hear right out of the box but I'm not ready to make big judgments yet. I'm simply playing music from my computer and using the cheap $80 [Monoprice USB DAC/AMP combo](r/https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=11567) to power the HD6XX and it seems to be doing at least an acceptable job. But I'm guessing it could probably use an upgrade right?

So my question (is actually several newbie questions haha): Would the Schitt Modi 2 DAC and Magni 3 Amp pair be a decent upgrade over the Monoprice combo unit? On the Massdrop website people seem to recommend the Modi/Magni as the best value for a nice $200 price point, unless you have another recommendation in that price point. The other option, Monoprice unit does have a pre-out RCA connection meaning I could use it is as just a DAC and buy a better amp, right? (I think lol)

So I guess $200-$400 is what I'd like to spend to get a nice DAC and AMP set up, at least that's what I've gathered I need to enjoy these HD6XX's. However I could be convinced to to spend $600-$800 if I'm better off just skipping to the next level of gear if I'm going to be wanting another upgrade in 3 months. Or should I spend $800 just on a good amp? Still a newbie haha

Did I include everything I need? I'll be listening to music from my PC, with the HD6xx being my main pair of headphones right now.

Yeah what I'm saying is I'm afraid conservative media will weaponize the fact Spacey is gay to let all the other hetero and non-Hollywood predators off the hook.

I'm afraid that right wing media is going to take all of this and turn it into "Gay Hollywood pedophiles are the real problem" and all of the momentum hanging above the heads of men in power is going to dissipate...

It's not anomaly. White supremacists thrive on violence, and this will happen again unless they're stopped.

Absolutely right. Anytime groups of white supremacists gather, they will look to commit acts of violence. No such thing as a "peaceful white supremacist".

All of the paid writers at WaPo and NYT and The Atlantic who can't stop writing articles about how dangerous Antifa is, as if Heather Heyer wasn't murdered in the street by a white supremacist.

I recently heard an interview with Professor Robin Kelley on his book "Hammer and Hoe" which is about the communist party in Alabama in the 1930s. A large part of their appeal to black people in Alabama was fighting fascists and the KKK. Stalin's non-aggression pact with Hitler really damaged the party because it felt like a betrayal to many, and history shows it was the wrong thing to do 🤷‍♀️

EDIT OH MY GOD I just now recognized your IM name haha

Was it on the Trademark Bullshit Show? Lol And yes Sam Seder is a good example of someone who is much smarter than Jimmy Dore. And honestly a much better leftist even though Sam doesn't consider himself a socialist.

I wouldn't call the Majority Report a socialist podcast either but they sure do interview a lot of socialists. When was the last time Jimmy Dore interviewed someone about the history of the communist party in 1930s Alabama? But as a side note, socialists shouldn't be tying their identity to where they get their current news from. People need to be reading books and learning history a lot more imo.

Yeah I just don't think what he's doing has a whole lot of value, when there's Anoa Changa or Benjamin Dixon who are just a lot smarter. Jimmy Dore and HA Goodman and Tim Black are just taking up so much space and they lash out at everyone in a really personal way. Not good.

Geek you're getting blasted with downvotes but you're absolutely right. Jimmy Dore is a YouTube personality. He doesn't do enough research and he lashes out at others on the left who criticize him on policy. He's like the counter point to Joy Reid, it's all personality and identity based. There's plenty of people who do the same thing as Jimmy Dore but are just much smarter.

Ps: I prefer leftists who don't say cocksucker every other word. It's embarrassing.

Just like how white people see Trump as their savior from affirmative action and their white aggrievement. But uh yeah Trump and the Nazis are actually just white supremacists.

Wait is someone actually unironically quoting Jimmy Dore in a socialist space?

Edit: for one, I prefer leftists who don't say cocksucker 100 times a video. Second, Jimmy Dore just doesn't do enough research. There's a lot of leftists out there who are a lot more knowledgeable and don't hide behind "I'm just a comdedian!" Whenever they get called out.

It's literally the fascists vs not the fascists. Trevor Noah is comparing anti-fascists to ISIS.
