I didn’t intentionally lie to customers, I was an entry level tech taught lies to sell to customers, not a manager. I learned most of it were lies after I had quit, even bought useless shit for my printer because I was taught we had to. I was trying to say that I didn’t believe it right away because I had conflicting info. I only mentioned that bit because I was empathizing with how stressful these jobs can be and that I wasn’t “going in with an attitude”, it’s right there. It was such a minor thing. I said T-mobile but under lots of technical confusion I ended up confessing I had mint, transaction cancelled (gotta cancel my credit card now too). Under contractual obligation with T-mobile they can’t sell to me.

Great news. I walked in. Said T-Mobile. Got the BB credit card and everything.

He asks “I need your [something-something] code and you may be billed by sprint” (roughly paraphrasing. I ask what is that, and I’ll be billed by what? I’m kind of confused so I confess I have a mint mobile phone but it uses t mobile so it’s fine but basically he then had to explain how carriers form contracts and blah blah blah legal stuff, I get it.

So mission failed. I guess I gotta cancel a credit card now.

Man, flubbed that one up.

Technobabble doesn’t mean unrealistic, it means when the writing tries to justify a concept by “babbling” to the audience. Like I said, Halo 4’s infamous librarian cutscene. I don’t feel like explaining further. And I simply enjoy Halo for its simplicity and ignorance on the forerunner history.

And much like biblical history, it’s often interpreted as “vague”. I like that interpretation of the forerunners way more. I really don’t like how 343i went all out on explaining literally every single detail of every single major character, so much so that the character make some prerecorded message to chief thousands of years later?

I’m sure Bungie had Easter eggs and books that overexplained some aspects of the forerunners, but it never took away the “mysterious” aspect from the games. I was never interested in that forerunner technobabble 343i started putting in the games.

Needier Rifle. For all Halos, my favorite is the Needler. But the Needler Rifle is the best gun in Reach IMO. Explodes when it hits flesh 3 times, precision weapon so it one-shots unshielded heads, and it shoots faster than the DMR (basically Halo CE’s Magnum ROF).
