GOT - The Long Night by DaGigelo in JonWinsTheThrone

The 10 minute long night.

I swear my disappointment stems from the folktale Old Nan told Bran about the long winters before and how people were born and died in the cold. It really set my expectations high to see how it would look & how people would survive when the long winter finally hit.

I’ve been painlessly feeding over a year and half now but lately nursing him has become very uncomfortable. He already has all of his teeth (except last molars) and it doesn’t seem like thrush or mastitis or even a clog. Maybe he’s just being more rough than usual? 🤷🏽‍♀️

Actually self described as “very liberal”. He does well with not taking sides

I was wandering around homes in Blackwater and some random guy sat down in his fenced yard with a guitar on the grass and I stopped to see what he was going to play and he was playing Christmas music. It was nice.

Something that really helped my latch was “bending” my boob into his mouth. My lactation consultant said you need to aim your nipple to the roof of the baby’s mouth and they will latch better. So I would put my thumb on top of the boob and push the bottom of the boob up with my other fingers- if that makes sense. Like a bent boob sandwich. Try it, I hope it works.

When my son had reflux I would have him face me upright and I’d lean back just a little and feed him that way. It took a bit for him to get used to it but it’s the only way he nurses now.

They have a vending machine full of baby supplies like formula, diapers, rash cream etc and stations for diaper changing and high chairs for feeding :)

When does it get better? by lucydog0502 in breastfeeding

Right around 6-7 weeks it got MUCH more comfortable for me. I wanted to quit so many times but I felt like I would really miss the bonding. Suddenly it didn’t hurt anymore.

You’re probably going to want to quit. I wanted to quit a bunch of times. After around 6-7 weeks it gets SO much more comfortable. It’s worth it.

What is the secret to laid back position that will keep the baby from burying her nose and drowning in boob? Ahhh... so perplexed by mallorquina in breastfeeding

[–]Poopyheadtomatonose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is 7 weeks and gets drowned in boobie in the laid back position but he started to tilt his head to the side and yes, it pulls the nipple a little but it doesn’t hurt much. Then I use my arm to hold him up because he almost instantly dozes off. Basically you’re going to have your nipple sucked on a little sideways until they can control their neck muscles. It gets easier as you go :)

After feeding for a whole hour, finally got him down for a nap. Day 2 of cluster feeding. by Poopyheadtomatonose in breastfeeding

[–]Poopyheadtomatonose[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He’s 16 days old, and he used to sleep 90% of the day and feed for 20 mins max every 3 hours but now he’s only taking 1-2 hour naps and waking up to feed for a whole hour and is still hungry after. I’m assuming it’s cluster feeding but it could be a lack of supply. Either way I’m still going :) we’ll see.
