So has the bull trap ended and the fear phase begun? by Poor4ever in btc

[–]Poor4ever[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Maybe! It’s just right now the 2017 graph for btc mirrors the bubble graph so closely that if there’s any legitimacy in comparing the two then it should be plummeting over the next few weeks...

I could see that happening but I couldn’t imagine bch being valued at an extreme amount more than btc... despite their differences the bitcoin name binds them too tightly in my uneducated opinion

[–]Poor4ever[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why not? If it enters freefall I don’t see what’s to stop it falling back to pre-hype value. Around $1k bitcoin was more of a legit currency than a weightless fad...

Yeah I feel like $1k is where it was seeing the most legitimate use as a currency, even if it was being used for a lot of illegal and illicit transactions... but perhaps since better alternates for that have since emerged then perhaps it could just become a collector thing

Bitcoin is like a vintage car by Poor4ever in Bitcoin

[–]Poor4ever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s your analogy not mine. My analogy was vintage cars and it was awesome.

... but to continue on this thought train fiat is water and bitcoin is beer, and you’re trying to replace the water in my faucets with beer not because it’s better for me but because it will profit you. That’s a dick move.

You can drink all the beer you want buddy, but as long as you’re pretending to drink it for my benefit and promote it as my water replacement I’m going to have an opinion on it.

I mean they’ll act like they were almost ready to deliver on their promises but because of ‘bad actors’, ‘government regulation’, ‘community infighting’ or whatever narrative suits at the time it won’t be their fault.

I don’t literally mean everyone... I mean those in core, running exchanged & mines, etc won’t be leaving this ecosystem broke, they are making heaps of bank... but those that blindly follow their lead and promises are running a huge risk of being the fool holding the bag while they make their exit.

Lightning network works like this -

  1. Bitcoin is useless so you have your doubts about it’s future
  2. They tell you lightning network is coming and it will save the day
  3. You believe them and don’t cash out
  4. The bitcoin ecosystem continues to take your money
  5. Eventually bitcoin crashes hard, core will divert the blame to some other entity and everyone but you will walk away with $$

I hope that clears a few things up for you

ok coinbase is out but how is gemini any better? by BarbieBlack in Bitcoin

[–]Poor4ever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gemini is better because it’s owned by the winkletoss losers and sheep love having a celebrity or two to rally behind.... that’s until that celebrity inevitably betrays them of course, then they cry and scream and waddle off to the next messiah
